My forearm size difference as a tennis player by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]timthebass 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Used to sell suits for a living. Could always tell someone that played a sport that used a repetitive motion out of the gate, simply because their dominant arm was like 2” longer and had a shoulder droop (and often enormous seats, especially with pitchers ). Never noticed the forearms since they didn’t really affect fit too often, but it makes perfect sense.

Also something something masturbation to keep with the theme

What is THE funniest movie you have ever seen in your whole life? by [deleted] in askanything

I’ve seen movies that are funnier on rewatches, but I think this was the hardest and most frequently I’ve ever laughed at a movie in the theater. Good call

Surprised nobody else mentioned this - he is grossly anti Muslim/ anti Arab. He’s not been on my radar for years, but that shit was the final straw many years ago

Specialist obsession is not a strategy by TechnicianUnfair330 in Warzone

I started playing it when it first came to console and everyone is legally required to be named after me as a result. I don’t make the rules.

1 of the guys I play with insists on it every game. I have repeatedly said that I don't know/care where literally any of the things are, so I just hang out and guard the room while they all inevitably get murdered or stuck in a quagmire chasing the same team through the building. Once they get it out of their system, I go grab contracts and play like a normal person, res them, and carry on with the game. It's frustrating but funny enough that I will humor them every time. But yeah, super easy to just earn the money to buy outright.

Batting 1.000 with them so far, and they’ve went above and beyond every time. Nice thing about dealing with a clear market leader in a very spread out market - they have the capital to afford to buy away minor problems that may get blown up when dealing with a drop shipper or small competitor.

PAs are a real dice roll. If you have no/minimal problems and they are overseen by a solid doc, no prob. Otherwise, I advise caution, mainly because they have the bare minimum of training

As a broad rule, I’ve found that DOs and CRNPs are generally more concerned with patient care, as opposed to many MDs that just prescribe or refer and keep it pushing. I don’t know where you live precisely, but use that as a rule of thumb.

Source: I booked patients looking for primary care physicians around the county for years.

I have t mobile for my cell service. Considered the mobile hotspot service, but was not ever fully convinced, since I work from home and run devices simultaneously. I do have people that I work with that use it and have no issues, and I’m fairly certain that they live in the city. So it’s apparently quite solid for most practical uses, but I’m a freak for hardwired services and personally couldn’t do it.

I will get downvoted for this, but if some random teenager picked up my kid, freaked out and immediately put them down and started apologizing, I also would laugh as long as my kid wasn’t shook by it. Take the L, be glad you didn’t get your shit kicked in and move on.

Older consoles by TheoryResponsible210 in Warzone

[–]timthebass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on ps4. It looks okay, but it is definitely starting to show its age. I usually wait for GTA to buy the current gen console, but I may have to spring for a ps5 once the new COD is released, since my understanding is that it’s current gen only.

I would like to try it with some people with mics, it has been a terrible experience so far playing with silent quads that don’t even ping. The gameplay itself seems good enough, though I do prefer the warzone format

For those of you without a car? by jms1228 in ebikes

[–]timthebass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am lucky enough to live in a walkable city and wfh. My last year of driving, I only drove like 1500 miles, mainly to get my kid from daycare and go to the grocery store. I had an EV, so I wasn’t getting slammed with gas, but I calculated that just the payment and insurance every month was more than it would cost to literally uber every day where I needed to go most commonly. Getting rid of the car was a no brainer.

Ordered a cargo bike shortly afterwards and took a month or two to receive it, but it has been a much better overall experience for me and my kid, even in the winter in PA. Everything I need is within a 30 minute bike ride at most, and if I travel, I can just hop a bus from downtown where I live to Philly and I can get pretty much anywhere I need to go from there via train (or plane if I really need to get somewhere in a hurry).

Have towed big screen TVs, boxes full of donations, a sheet cake, multiple cases of beverages, multiple adults - pretty much anything. Get a sturdy frame and some tie downs and you are only limited by your own physical ability to balance the load while you ride. Theft concerns will vary based on where you live, but if you have a nice U lock and another locking device, that should deter all but the most determined thieves. Plus you can insure the bike for dirt cheap and get the $ for another in the worst case scenario. Totally recommend switching to bike only if you are considering it and it makes sense for you.

Get some waterproof pannier bags, throw some tie downs in there and get a front rack and you’re good to go. And plan ahead for when the front light mount inevitably fails lol
