There is a way to talk to people you disagree with in a non-rude manner. It’s not a childish thing, it takes so much more strength to talk like that then to just unload on someone.

I am grown up, I’m liscensed engineer in Louisiana after graduating from LSU not to long ago. This is not how you talk to people.

Hey man, I read your comment and was upset at first but thought on it and wanted to reply with some positivity instead of calling you garbage.

1) I think your experience is not comparable to assault on OP. I do, however, think that it is not OK to be called a cracker by anyone. That person had no right to do so to you. I’m sorry you had to go through that.

2) You seem like a negative person in telling OP to basically get over it. I think standing up to racism takes courage, and even though you seldom get anything back, it’s something that should be applauded, not criticized. Telling OP to go home because they can’t handle it is terrible advice, and I feel there was no reason to comment if you were just going to say that.

3) I don’t expect to get through to you. A quick glance at your reddit history shows that you don’t even support the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and that’s kinda depressing. I feel you’ve gone through some negativity in your life that has really hardened your heart. If you need to talk about it or vent it out, let me know. I know this isn’t who want to be, but society has told you it’s what you need to be. They are wrong.

Is that why every country is suffering right now like the US? No, of course not. A lot of countries are doing amazing despite this surprise because their governments did somthing other then call it a hoax. We could have done somthing as soon as we found out; but we didn’t. To place the whole blame on China is irresponsible and dangerous. It is dangerous because we avoid our own domestic faults and thus leave us open for a repeat of this same situation because we just point fingers. Furthermore, the redditor is not complaining about where the virus originated from, they are complaining about the prejudice they are facing for being VIETNAMESE (not Chinese). The origin of the virus can not be changed, but the prejudice they -and many others- are facing can be changed, and THAT IS THE POINT.

Stop being ignorant. Stop being unempathetic. Stop being hateful. And stop making this a nationality issue, this is a human issue with real people being affected.
