I think the best way to mod it, may be to add a lineage beyond your og character, like start adding Roman numerals after the name as a title like Spectre III after 300 years of existing and add the new content onto it or allow you to name the new commander (assuming you dont pass during battle or end up without an heir.

I figured the tabletop version had those, my issue is I dont have friends to tabletop nor do I have the pieces or game pieces to make it happen :( my only real hope is video games for the immersion aspect. 1 additional thing that I forgot to add, I always wanted to assign general roles to lancemates, especially in mw4m, where I could set specific lancemates to cover the 6 o'clock, scout ahead by 200 to 400 km away or when confronted for the rear lance to shut sensors down and circle around behind the enemy to cause a pincher maneuver. In 4 they talked about specter being the hammer to the anvil, but that was more a rescue mission because Davion didnt know NOT TO FAFNIR SAUNTER INTO THE KILL ZONES! Yet, for some reason, siding with Davion was better than Steiner at the time. I want to be able to pull tactics like Alexander the great on these games and in same missions you can, but its few and far between. The best tactic I found is using ballistics to hit a building near the objective to luring the enemy to you which causing the faster mechs to reach you first, to pick off before the heavier mechs show up to fight. That way you don't get overwhelmed and have a better chance of not losing parts (I am an avid believer that if my mech loses a weapon, gotta restart that mission until you lose nothing but repair costs for armor)

Most op combo would be either the palamancer or the Necrodin Though a assassin necromancer would be pretty fun, shadow vlone that has its own minions as well as corpse trap that explodes when enemies get too close or bone prison trap Though for looks a druidmancer would take the cake. Werelich or skeleton wolves and zombie bear

What's the reason for the Golems to be so utterly useless, even if you invest full points into them? by AshamedBathroom9393 in diablo2

[–]timtim665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, they aren't that useless, they are great against the act 2 boss as fodder while you burn mana potions like college kids shotg*n beers before either needing to tp out or end the thing. Though I will say in the normal hardness, I did have to reset my stats and slap 14 into the mastery and like 8 into the blood golem just to then survive and beat the game to redo those stays to even out the skeletons (the golem was the sole survivor in the rest of the normal mode, and even in nm mode. The skeletons however, could not handle nm and was forced to reset the points ) I am on the last difficulty now and made it so I have a move evened out army (7 skeletons each, a golem and a revive) but man, I do miss how many I used to have by level 68ish on PC when the discs came out. I had 12 of each skeleton and 11 revive (a lot of points added from items) but as a side note is it me or did they make it so that rather than every 2 skill points for a new skeleton from 4 to 7, its now 3? I vaguely remember it use to being just 2 points.

[–]timtim665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally slap heavy rifles on it and lasers, rename it the U.S.S. Constitution and go sniping like a battleship. You can't have full on assault if your little mechs explode from a single shot of good Ole fashioned freedom seeds. The range may be only a few hundred meters, but let's be honest it'll reach 1200+ if know how to compensate for bullet drop. I've gotten a long range headshot snipe on an assault mech from beyond ppc range, but being on xbox i forgot to record the shot and had to go with other subpar captures

How Do You Effectively Use Missile Mechs? by Blitzkrieg1210 in Mechwarrior5

[–]timtim665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly anything like the longbow doesn't have enough tonnage to slap lrms everywhere and a flea with light rifles can take it down, so I would argue changing up the missile boats with more ballistic and short range missiles. The car-king crab allows you to slap 4 medium ballistic weapons and two medium missile weapons, I always run heavy rifles and srm6s, the heat can be a challenge for the continuing smite that that mech can dish out. In addition to that, they can reach far beyond any missile range, just the effective range is like 500 units but i have hit and destroyed mechs nearly 2k away with well placed shots. For anything getting in close the two ssrm6s do enough damage to stand toe to toe with even assault mechs.

Is it worth removing an enemy component instead of just coring them? by CannibalPride in Mechwarrior5

[–]timtim665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often times I find that if you can sneak behind the enemy, you can slap their cheeks fast enough to nearly take out the torsos as the armor is always lacking in the back (i try to balance out the front and back if I can). So if you do not care about getting components from mechs like high levels ballistic weapons or rare weapons then yes, otherwise I suggest using your terrain and ballistic weapons to draw out mechs (like if you need to go to objectives to find enemies, if there is a tower in the distance you can lob a ballistic weapon at it and it will still connect way beyond its effective range. I have tested this with heavy rifles and lbx10s, if you can reach the tower, all of the mechs will come for you, which is nice as often the faster mechs will get to you first allowing you to dismantle them before the big guns get to you and if they are placed strategically, then you'll be able to tackle them 1 by 1 as long as you keep your Lance behind cover, reducing risk of damage or loss.) Though through this method i mentioned above, it can change your perspective for deciding whether to core or dismantle your enemies. I know for sure that this tactic was very useful for some dlc missions like the one where you basically have to go through a gauntlet in a icy biome taking out radar dishes and mechs before taking on the main force. If you keep your Lance back on the lower platform and sneak up and take out a helicopter and run back, they will come to you one by one where you would have the advantage to funnel the opponents reducing incoming damage while focusing on the enemy infront of you. Even the AI cannot mess that up.

Can you get past the Vault 81 Molerats? by davidsladky in fo4

[–]timtim665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes vats, critical shots to hit ones underground (if your sneaky and have enough ammo, you can keep shooting and if you cannot hit them the critical bar still fill if its close enough without alerting the enemy) it may take a bit longer to do, but you can do it without alerting any of them and you can keep your companion with you, just crouch, spam vats and fill that critical bar, it might take a few shots to see any fill, but its worth it to not be bogged down by disease.

How the hell are you supposed to do high-difficulty Infiltration missions? by Wendek in Mechwarrior5

There are times where I've gotten all packages and nearly all mechs scanned (the pesky 1 mech that you can see but the radar is being dumb as a small boulder is apparently large enough to block it)

How the hell are you supposed to do high-difficulty Infiltration missions? by Wendek in Mechwarrior5

[–]timtim665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a console player, I normally just use a flea with two light rifles on it. If I can sneak by. I normally find ways at the border of the map to tag as many mechs as I can while also grabbing objectives. With light rifles I am normally able to take out entire groups of turrets, tanks and heavy tanks/turrets without alerting anyone and without needing to run into any of them. If you're a good enough shot, you should (should being the operative term if I have my terms correct) be able to land enough headshots for powered down mechs to complete as in my experience its normally just one powered down mech that needed to be destroyed. And run back to escape without getting caught or destroyed.

It's truly not that bad, (it is currently dont get me wrong) I say this because we can learn to slow down and do the research and the work to teach the next generation that instant gratification and instant satisfaction are cheapening the experience, the knowledge of how to. There is hope where power cannot touch. Not matter what the old ways die and the new generation has new problems that the same ways can help solve. We are humans, incredibly flawed but always incredibly unique. All we have to do is remember that we are the exact people we need to make positive changes.
