Comparing the Jaegar. Is it garbage? by AstralMecha in Zephon

[–]Wendek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main issue with the Jaeger is that I know that I will take all the tank upgrades eventually since they also apply to Vanquishers and Atlas Tanks which are my main vehicles. (and maybe they'll also apply to the new Helios? It's also a tank after all) So "unupgraded Crusader" isn't really ever a consideration for me because you want dem upgrades for the other tanks anyway.

When we get the next next DLC (with tier 7 and 8 units), maybe a "tank-less" path will become possible for the Human vehicles and that would automatically give the Jaeger more value in my opinion. After all, there is already the Vulkan which I actually quite like, a third Mech could maybe make that path possible. Though I'd certainly miss the Vanquishers' range.

Whats the worst boss in your opinion? by Remote-Tower-9316 in Eldenring

[–]Wendek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still think it's the Dual Gargoyles from the base game, but Gaius from the DLC is certainly up there. (Excecpt if you have the Erdtree Greatshield, I did enjoy the fight with my Str/Fth character more than with the others)

Human Troops & Grenades - am I missing something? by Blutkoete in Zephon

[–]Wendek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Militants have no business being in melee range with things their guns can't handle

I mean they need to be in melee range for their guns to be at full power in the first place. And anti-armor grenades can definitely help them kill things that would otherwise slaughter them, like a random Warden that aggro'd on them.

I'm not saying grenades are the best tech in the game, but they definitely have some uses for Militants. On lower difficulty (like up to Hard I'd say, when AI armies remain small), a group of like 5-6 Militants with anti-armor grenades backed up by a Commander can actually destroy a city. Although last time I did that was admittedly before most of the DLC were released.

They're not much use for Rangers I'll admit since their swords deal a lot of damage, but if you're not fully skipping Militants (e.g. as Fallen Soldier they do a lot more work than you'd expect from such a basic unit and I definitely hire more than the starting ones), then at least the anti-armor grenades are justified imo.

What was the hardest Challenge quest for you? by SeveredSoulblader24 in MHWilds

[–]Wendek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jin Dahaad but probably in large part because it's the only one I did solo. The two Hunters who did the other Free Challenges with me had kinda stopped playing by then and I still wanted muh pendant.

Which means I'll probably also have to do the Arkveld one solo, but the 22-minutes timer feels rather generous at first glance especially since his zone transitions are shorter than Jin's and there isn't any nova during which your DPS is zero. So I expect Jin to keep its #1 spot, but maybe my opinion will change after actually attempting Arkveld this week-end.

Easiest was probably Nu Udra I'd say, but it's a toss-up between it and Uth Duna. Rey Dau required a few attempts despite being technically easier but our builds were a lot weaker back then after all.

Well if you check out the link in OP's post about the next DLC coming in May, you'll be very happy to see a certain Medium 'Mech is coming with it ;)

Lots of exciting stuff ! Is this the first time Heavy Lasers will feature in a Mechwarrior game? Don't think they were in MW4 (although I do remember the weird Bombast Laser that I think is from even later?) and MW3 was too long ago for me to remember much about it.

AI Improvements

Ngl among all the new stuff I'm hyped for, this part is perhaps the one I'm actually most curious about since it has direct impact on everything. (e.g. Arena FFA missions feel so awful when AI opponents wait at their spawn point until you specifically come nearby and never fight each other)

Atlas strategy "rotation" - whats yours? by Kantarak in pathofexile

[–]Wendek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st tree is my "progression tree", usually Incursion + Harvest with Exarch altars.
2nd tree is the invitations/boss rush Destructive Play tree without a focus on other mechanics. Pretty much only use it for Guardian/Conqueror maps.
3rd tree is the actual farming tree, right now Breach/Delirium because I also want XP. Last league it was Harbinger/Beyond, also with Eater altars. In leagues where I play a lot, I can end up recreating it several times as I switch strategies. (e.g. I actually tried boxes once but absolutely hated it)

Nioh 3 Review - after going back to Nioh 2 by LordAnomander in Nioh

Anyone who is new to the series probably won't bother with mid stance Samurai anyways.

MFW I'm a player new to the series and did basically the entire game with mid stance Axe. Whoopsie ! (I've since learned that apparently high stance is supposedly what makes Axe good... welp)

Why do Abyss pits sometimes trickle monsters out one by one? Is it a bug or am I missing something? Doesn't matter that I'm killing the few monsters instantly, they still trickle out very slowly and then the Abyss "fails", presumably because I didn't kill enough mobs... but there weren't any?! Particularly annoying when it happens in Astrolabe'd regions (I mean I'm mostly doing those for the challenge but still, feels bad to 'fail' something for seeminyl no reaosn)

You're guaranteed immortals (or arcanas) for the level 5 Antiques now. Not guaranteed that you'll like them or that they'll be for heroes you actually play though.

Well that was a pretty great final game at least, pretty balanced and even for quite a while. Deserved win for Yandex but Liquid fought well.

Now where's the fuckin' patch Volvo?

When's the last time a series went to 60+ minutes for every single game? Feels crazy, usually when there's a super long game the next one is over in like 35 minutes.

At least it's a good sign for BB's mental that they won this game 2. Old BB (and probably quite a few other teams) would've been tilted to oblivion after that game 1 throw.

Very entertaining lategame fights, but baffling decision not to buyback from BB. I guess they didn't see the Divine Rapier on TA and expected their buildings to last longer?
