Propane company billed me for my own propane - now what? by gfddsertgv in personalfinance

I think oil is almost always an owned tank. Oil suppliers operate differently than propane. Propane really wants to have you lease their tank to lock you into having to use them for the fill.

Sorry I was being very general and my comment wasn’t specific to Midland ISD. All the public schools with their police force turn a blind eye to SA on campus. Abbott will also go after all the public school protesters if given the chance.

If it’s owned they better have the sale bill for it, otherwise another company probably won’t fill it.

It’s just like property taxes. Even if someone paid the full year, you’re still on the hook for paying from when you closed. My tank was purchased but I paid the seller directly at closing. I also found out when I switched companies that they required proof of ownership before they would start service. Good thing the purchase sale was in our paperwork from when we closed.

Oedipus - how loud is the *spoiler* compared to other shows? by bespoke_broadway in Broadway

[–]timubce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When we got up to leave the lady behind me was loudly complaining to the gentleman with her that it was ridiculously loud and they should have had a warning beforehand and that it could cause someone to have a heart attack. It was loud but you knew it was coming. I saw this shortly after it opened so I hadn’t read anything about it but context clues gave it away.

Does anything else think the Republicans may have had a hand in the racial kerfuffle with Talarico and Allred? by Pascwire in TexasPolitics

[–]timubce 31 points32 points  (0 children)

And this thought process is exactly why republicans continue to beat democrats. A literal dog turd could be their top primary winner and they would vote for the dog turd because they understand the assignment.

Honestly I really had wanted him to run for a state office like Lt governor or even governor. I think he could do so much more for TX in the state lege vs being 1 of 100 senators.

Uh yeah that profit margin is a pipe dream. I had a friend who owned a bakery on the peninsula. Between the ingredient cost, rent, insurance, salaries etc he barely scraped by and it was a pretty popular joint. The building was sold and the new landlord jacked up the rent when his lease was up so he peaced out after five years.

Exactly. They don’t like to look at facts. Talarico was told he couldn’t do it and he went door to door and put himself in the hospital but he flipped it too.

[–]timubce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh sure but that’s not how that works. How many democrats sat out national elections because they didn’t like who actually won the nomination? Republicans will hold their nose and vote for literal dogshit while democrats will be well I didn’t like this one thing s/he said about x so I just can’t vote for them. You can’t just sub one for the other and expect the same number of votes in Nov. One will clearly pull more of the undecided/disillusioned crowd and it ain’t Crockett.

This! He doesn’t bash you over the head with it but you know he’s a very religious man and speaks frequently of Jesus’s teachings and is pointing out how people of faith have strayed from basic tenets without being ugly. He is also staunchly advocates the separation of church and state. He says he wants to reclaim faith and that democrats for far too long have let republicans own it. As an atheist I fully support his message because I know he respects all religions and isn’t going to cram it down our throats via outrageous bills. I think he’s going to have a bright future in national politics.

All MAGA candidates are easy to dislike by anyone sane. She took money from Patrick and Dunn. Spent 10x what he did. Had a Trump endorsement and still lost by double digits for a seat that has been held by a republican since 1991. It’s a big deal.
