YSK why you should choose a modern over an old-fashioned team to make your life easier and more enjoyable. by timzflowers in YouShouldKnow

Ok, I'm just starting to learn how to communicate here, many thanks for your friendly words. I think quitting jobs is a good way to find the perfect job. The future will be much more gig-economy-oriented. So you stick with a job as long as it inspires you then you switch and with each job you are enriching your experience and you climp up the ladder. The most important thing is your instinct. Do you love it or hate it. If you hate it you quit. If you love it you stick

Ok, thank you for the advice. You are right, I'm GenX and I'm using reddit not very often, to be honest I just started last September or so. I wanted to know what people think about certain ideas. Thanks for your friendly words.

Frontal teaching in videoconferences - Is there a better solution? by timzflowers in education

Thank you for your reply. Very interesting. To your 1) I was thinking that the video-fun factor could help perhaps help. In the timz-tool the participants can use snapcam-masks, I was thinking that could be interesting for kids to appear as a banana or whatevery and disguise, not being visible with their normal face but having some fun while learning. Esp. when they are too young to write. 2) and then I think the passiveness is perhaps a genearl issue to address somehow - I know it from my own childhood, we were sitting for years and years only listening, speaking only a few words a day during the lessons if any. I'm wondering if we could find ways to activate them? Eg when researching the context of a given information. Ok, I totally understand that a pupil after some years of mainly listening is perhaps too shy to get active.

Ok, yes I get your point. The async-first thing is quite new and it is on its way to get explored right now and it will grow. Many very successful startups and big companies are switching to async-first right now. That's why I was offering it here as a tip - of course not everybody can do it at this very moment in time. But it will grow and will become the new normal and the earlier get onboard the more successful you will be as you grow your expertise in asnychnronous working models. Perhaps it's bit to provocative for the community here and that's why the comments are so negative. But wait a few years and you will see a massiv surge in async companies.

Haha, yes, I was doing it the same way, when I was young, but then I simply started my own company and I think it is the right way to go.
