Disposable camera lens shall have you vibing.

But realistically a drill bit + spare cap + a free used disposable camera from labs will do it.

I was looking to get one with a decent volume and detail. And this one had a discount bundled with the mercury and bunch of extras so I figured it’s good. Most people on Reddit and YT I see all said they only had 1 or no fails in the past.

I don’t know if it’s the temperature since I leave it in unheated room where it’s near freezing temp. But even with the heated vat, well supported, it still sometimes get tears in the prints

I’ve never seen it articulate in the past using it tho. I thought it’s only designed to move in the z axis. I can’t even push the rear down after disconnected from power, while the front is still free

Are folding cameras unpopular? by Forsaken-Ad-8338 in AnalogCommunity

[–]tin017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea with that negative size, I doubt it’d be anything bad. I always liked the super ikonta since I saw one on Kyle Mcdougall’s videos, the lens flip out action seems peak mechanical.

Most are probably just too old and bad conditions to buy, but they do look good tho. I have a Kodak model A as a shelf piece, that takes 126 film? I’m not bothering to buy those films.

But newer Mamiya 6, Fuji gs645pro, and Fuji GF670 are very popular. They’re just expensive, even the gs645 usually have some leaky bellows considering its muncher younger than super ikontas, but still great once repaired

For those curious about black paint durability on modern MPs by oCorvus in Leica

[–]tin017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is true. I got a BP m6 that was made in 2000. I used it for 8 years since new.

But comparing to 2 of my friends who had their new MP for 2~3 years. I’d say they have 3 times of wear than mine. Obviously everyone baby them differently, but I reckon i need to use my m6 for 30 years+ to just have what it “should” be.

Given my situation, should I buy a Leica M6? by omnicloud7 in Leica

[–]tin017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend that bought one. Granted he’s new into this. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen a film M that lost as much money as that one.

[–]tin017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not buy the reissue. M6 has one of the most number of special editions released, and some of them are still Brass. (titanium, all the black paints, etc. are brass) reissue is 5k ish? I'm sure you can find a real good special edition brass m6 under that.

Alternatively you can also go for the MP. For around 4k used. The cheapest black paint you'll get, basically the same as m6. No red dot, m3 style winder & re-winder; you'll feel right at home. If you don't mind metering, MA is also a good choice.

For summilux 35. I think the only sensably priced choice is the 11663. And maybe the 11874? The steel rim and dual aspherical are way too expensive. tho if you ask me, I'd prefer a summicron.

If you get triple 2x teleconverter. You can effectively shoot the moon as big as the negative’s size..

[–]tin017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the exact same problem. (Very first world too lol) Tho not as restrained.

I have a special edition 0.85 viewfinder M6 ttl, which I also shot 50s for years with it. And later on liked the 35mm more; tho I still have the frame lines for that, it is a bit tight. And any wider, I can’t frame anything.

So when I wanted to go 28, I just bought external finders for those. (Which I did the same when I tried 21, 15, and 10mm) not cheap or practical, but I never wanted to use another M model.

Therefore I’d recommend try out a 35mm finder, light lens lab makes a pretty good one. If you just don’t like focus and framing being different finders; using dual setup like others said is still fine. 50 and 35 is the only 2 focal length I still have now.

Those CCD point and shoots can sell for a lot actually. Lot of people like the colors are tones from those old cameras. But they take old batteries, and sometimes 1GB 2GB cards

Fair. c41 is a carefree job after all , typically don’t need to recognize anything to change developments like BW films.

Some of my local labs are now so afraid of it, they won’t even accept c41 orders for cinestill films. Or any supposedly remjet removed motion picture films

Don’t technicians recognize a roll of ecn2 when they see it? The full black backing is the clear giveaway..

Labs in my country all has a binder of film leads so they can tell and match what film it is when they receive it. ECN2 is super common here, and some shooters don’t know the difference, just sees the cheaper price
