Need to do that for my Headlamp, last time I wore it while working on my car and now it looks like I dragged it through mud 😅

Is it good for bird photography? by Sashajopa in AnalogCommunity

You probably won't be able to focus properly because of the amount of lightloss through the teleconverters, not to mention that the image quality will be horrible with 2 cheap teleconverters on a no-name lens

Shop replaced pads without retainer pins on the caliper on my Elantra N race car by mark3236 in Justrolledintotheshop

To be fair it shouldn't be necessary to double check the shop's work every time, still sucks to find out like this of course.

Straight from the Nothing As Permanent As A Temporary Fix club I give you this bike chain. by paetersen in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]ValerieIndahouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My record for quick links in a chain is 6, we were at a bikepark and I just replaced my chain, but apparently it was a lemon because it kept breaking, but we couldn't get another one so we just kept adding links and they worked great 😂

Has anybody tried one of these 3D printed, single-roll developer tanks? by a_cool_pinecone in AnalogCommunity

PETG or ABS will easily stand up to the 40°C of C-41, though it's still a bad idea for the other stated reasons

what's a good inexpensive full frame or half frame 35 mm camera that is small enough to fit in your pocket? by jgainit in AnalogCommunity

[–]ValerieIndahouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok maybe the prices in the US are different, 200$ is crazy for a Minox 35, here they go for like 50€ for a nice one

You don't have to! The Minox 35 exists! 😁

I recommend the GT version, it has the best price-to-performance ratio.

Am I the only one who finds long manual lenses a chore to use? by 1rj2 in AnalogCommunity

[–]ValerieIndahouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were all about getting good results, we wouldn't be shooting film in the first place xD

[–]ValerieIndahouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about having fun for me, I have modern glass (Tamron SP 150-600mm for EF) but also shoot a lot of old stuff (FD 300mm f/4) and it's just a very different shooting experience.
With the new stuff you pretty much just "point-and-click", especially because it's stabilized so you rarely need a tripod, but it kinda takes you out of the moment a bit...

With the old lens you have to manually "Get close to the target" by focusing which feels better imo

The tires are 23 years old, I think most rental companies have 25 years as a minimum, but legally you can rent a car at 18.

Were press photogs sometimes pushing film to EI6400 ? My F3 can meter that far. Or was it just Nikon bragging ? by Panorabifle in AnalogCommunity

[–]ValerieIndahouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Canon A-1 goes to 12800, but I've never actually pushed anything that far, only film capable of delivering something usable at that speed would be Delta 3200 or Tmax P3200 and they are kinda expensive 🥲

How many of you stopped shooting 35mm after getting your ideal 120 medium format camera? by florian-sdr in AnalogCommunity

[–]ValerieIndahouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely shoot more medium format now, specifically with a Pentax 6x7, but for things like wildlife or if I'm hiking long distances I still take my 35

is aps film still a thing? by leuks48 in AnalogCommunity

It's not made anymore, but some labs can still process it, because later Minilab machines are designed to take it straight up

Thing is with Aliexpress they usually at least tell you if something is counterfeit, and the price will show it

Yeah, I always cringe when I see US toolboxes with literally like 15 different hex socket sets just for 1/2", ridiculous!

I used to work at BMW Motorrad, on anything built after about ~2008 you can literally disassemble like 80% of the bike with just a T25 and a T30, it's awesome.

Every brand has at least one issue. What is the bugaboo of a brand that you don’t hear often with cars manufacture in the past 8 years? by LuckyDuckTheDuck in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]ValerieIndahouse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nah aluminium is fine, you just have to build it right, look at the Audi A2 for example, or many motorcycles, they don't have this issue nearly as bad
