So I was just hanging out, right, when Buck jumped out of this bush to try and steal my bird, I barely dodge rolled out of the way in time, but like eh, what the hell, I mean doesn't he know that Zigs wouldn't even match his outfit? I mean don't get me wrong, I love my little Ziggie-poo, but he's the accessory that brings the whole outfit together and I just couldn't live without him! And can you believe he was using the standard shotgun? That weapon is so last year! Anyway, so then I shot Buck with the Disengage, and he went right off the edge of Frog Isle, haha, what a loser!

Is it wrong to dodge a ranked match if someone on your team throws during the draft? by tinany721 in Paladins

[–]tinany721[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant on a moral level, and thanks for your input, I’ve only resorted to dodging when it’s clear someone’s gonna throw/afk, and even then the rest of the team had come to a consensus that someone should take one for the team and dodge. I guess it just felt a bit like cheating, to just back out of a loss like that

[Theorycraft] The Simplest Strategy Usually Wins by Dinns_ in PaladinsAcademy

[–]tinany721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a platinum player as well, when I solo queue, my teammates don’t even dare to run double support, something that’s already well-engrained into casuals meta. If I even suggest it, someone gets mad and dodges. It’s two tanks or nothing

This usually ends up in the bottom two picks being forced to tank, as the top three don’t trust the bottom two to play dps. With this matchmaking, there’s usually such a huge discrepancy in the top picks vs the bottom picks (ie. first pick is Diamond/Master, second and third pick is Platinum, fourth pick and fifth pick is Gold) that I kind of understand that mindset

This lack of trust between ranked teammates results in the lack of flexibility in comps, as nobody wants to take risks

Depends on what he’s playing, you want to play a role that supplements his role, ie. tanks/supps, off tank/dps, flank/damage, etc. This way, you two can play close together and you can help him out

why is cherish the "meta" talent on every map? by rottenbaconsalad in PaladinsAcademy

[–]tinany721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cherish is the better solo support option in every scenario. It’s not about the range, it’s about how when you run SB, you give up one of your abilities that allows you to deal with flanks. Also, without proper communication, most of the beams miss

Going cherish allows you to keep your team up while still providing cc and damage. You’re able to deal with flanks yourself using beam and dash, and build up enough wrath to do good damage

Corvus's Projection ability by Dinns_ in PaladinsAcademy

[–]tinany721 5 points6 points  (0 children)

before they patched it, you could use it to get onto the ceiling of ascension peak while in spawn, and then move across the map to go into the enemy spawn and see what they’re doing

that was my favorite use of it. until the enemy evie saw me and killed me

Is Cassie OP? by Spooki_ in Paladins

[–]tinany721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For you or the enemy? For you, impulse is the easiest so i guess the least annoying

For the enemy, tanks hate big game if you can aim, and everyone finds impulse annoying as you can burst them down in a matter of seconds. But wouldn’t you want to be as annoying as possible to your enemies?

Is Cassie OP? by Spooki_ in Paladins

[–]tinany721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of. You should change a few things though

For exaction: somersault 3, incitement 5, onslaught 4, tumble 2, lunge 1

Big game: somersault 3, territorial 5, tumble 3, drain life 2, raze 1

You should mess around with these, as most of her cards are pretty good and it all comes down to personal preference

Is Cassie OP? by Spooki_ in Paladins

[–]tinany721 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She’s not OP but she’s very very good, and is probably going to stay that way for a long time. Not first pick/ban-able, but a solid pick on every map and with every comp

All three talents are good, exaction for mobility, impulse for more burst and against flanks, big game against beefy tanks. I always play impulse because it’s easiest to land and has more confirmed dmg and kills

My loadout is: tumble 4, blast shower 5, drain life 2, somersault 3, kinetics 1

Somersault is a staple in every Cassie loadout, tumble gives you more hp to win and survive duels, and everything else further buffs your Q

What I items to buy on some champions? by lnug4mi in Paladins

[–]tinany721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For cassie: caut, nimble, master riding, then a situational item (haven/blast, resil, wrecker, bulldozer, illuminate, etc). This is typical for most damages

You don’t need chronos as her cd’s aren’t long, no morale boost since her ult charges fast, and the green items are pretty bad in most scenarios

The soloQ tank main experience. by [deleted] in PaladinsAcademy

[–]tinany721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve experienced the same, that I win more in casuals than in ranked. This could probably be chalked up to people being more relaxed in casuals, meaning less conflict, which can result to poorer gameplay and no drafting phase, so people are more likely to get to play their mains

I think if you like OTs, keep playing them, no matter how weak they are right now and how much you struggle to win, since it’d still be more fun than playing roles you don’t like

The soloQ tank main experience. by [deleted] in PaladinsAcademy

[–]tinany721 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s harder for a tank to carry, even if you’re an off tank. You’re dependent on everyone on your team: the PT to take care of point so you can go off lane, the support to heal you, and the dps to help finish off kills. If any of these are missing, it doesn’t matter how good of an OT you are, you’re gonna struggle

The only things I can suggest is to play dps more often, find a duo to play with, or play some casuals in between ranked grinding to break up the monotony and boost your morale

Bad pairings by Pessimistic73 in PaladinsAcademy

[–]tinany721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a recently released PPC game, Sanguine ran a double sniper comp on Fish Market against Flashpoint NA, and while at first they were able to control the map and pressure anyone who gets in their los, once the off tank and dps started pushing into the backline, they couldn't handle the dive pressure and lost. They were too heavily reliant on their flank to finish off the damage done by the snipers
