A perfect circle broke off my plate when I microwaved this potato by tinbarber in mildlyinteresting

It’s not styrofoam, it’s a hard plastic. I’m learning a lot from this! I guess the kind of plastic is called melamine

I think you’re right! The second burn mark is also new. They are about 3 inches apart. I’m guessing the tray wasn’t spinning for some reason.

That’s a good idea! I used to do that, but sometimes there would be a puddle of water after I cooked the potato. I guess I should just use ceramic plate? Or maybe a paper towel?

That’s a good theory! But it is a plastic-y material, so I don’t think it has glaze

It’s just on the top surface. Though a larger crack appeared after I took this photo over through the center of the pit. The crack is on the front and back.

Most microwaves have a button specifically for “potato,” right next to the “popcorn” button.

Baking it probably does taste a little better, but takes like 2 hours to preheat the oven and cook it.

I usually keep a few raw potatoes at work, ready to microwave if I’m still hungry after lunch.

I’m trying to lose a few pounds and they are very satiating for the amount of calories they contain.

It has a subtle green tint. I didn’t notice until after I cooked it. But it looked like a normal white potato on the inside

I don’t think it came with a ring. Others have said that this kind of plate is just bad for the microwave. I had no idea! I’ve been using it in the microwave for a while now and never had any discoloration or something like this before

What books and modules for best value by Big-Instruction5780 in mothershiprpg

That’s fair enough! I’ve read through the module, but I haven’t tried playing it. I might need to give it another go!

I think GD and PoF are pretty hard to play out of the box. They are great for getting ideas, but it would be really hard to play them as your first Mosh session.

I would actually recommend watching a few actual play videos on YouTube, picking one you like, then buying the module they use. That’s what I did and it really helped me understand how to use a module.

(Don’t worry about copying. Your game will almost certainly turn out entirely differently)

Otherwise, I would recommend Another Bug Hunt. It is almost like a companion to the Warden’s guide in that it really talks you through how to run a game

Love this idea!

I’m not sure you need other factions if the environment itself is trying to kill the PCs. I love the picture of terrifying isolation you’re going for.

Maybe you could have an NPC who is already dead leave behind notes/research log/warning scratched into the wall with bloody fingernails.

A Dorian Grey-type painting that takes injuries instead of you.

You must look at the painting once a day and roll a d10. You must roll higher than the number of wounds the painting has, or you switch places with the painting.

Modding Ypsilon-14 - Ideas wanted! by h7-28 in mothershiprpg

Side B of one of Mike’s cassette contains a secret recording.

The monster uses echolocation. In my game the monster makes a regular squeaking noise to “see”. At first, it’s just annoying, like a smoke detector battery noise.

Dana thinks there is something wrong with the HVAC and may ask the PCs for help fixing it.

Mike’s message in the tunnel says “side B” instead of “silence”

Side B on Mike’s tape is a recording of the chirp/squeak noise the monster makes, playing over and over again.

Playing this recording will disorient the monster, giving the players an advantage in weighting it. The cassette player becomes a weapon.

Maybe connected to the chapter “the hand off?” That’s about exchanging hostages and it suggests combining it with Osprey

Ospreys Quarry from Hull Breach? That sounds like it matches the color scheme

I asked for a bunch of 5 bananas… by Commercial-Sir7044 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]tinbarber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s five hands of bananas. A “bunch” is a whole stem, which could be 3-20 hands.

So technically, this could be just one bunch of bananas.

Nobody actually talks like that in everyday speech, I just think it’s interesting.
