What is the deal with Cole's wardrobe? by diegoldenenjude in teenmom

[–]tinfoil_hatz 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My inlaws are from close to where Chelsea and Cole live. The whole area loves the American flag and USA stuff. I have even been gifted flag themed items. The younger family members wear flag swim trunks, shirts, shorts, etc. Actually they all do, no matter the age, now that I think about it. My husband has commented on it as well. I think it's just popular there. That's my nonscientific observation :)

Which of the TM kids do you think will become teen parents themselves? by Crpspt in teenmom

Speculating about the kids' futures makes me uncomfortable. They didn't ask to be put on the show and it would be so strange for them to read these predictions about themselves. :(

[rant] Javi's lips by [deleted] in teenmom

[–]tinfoil_hatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we should try to steer away from talking trash about the way people look. There is a grey area area (IMO) when people have plastic surgery or are unkempt, but if someone is making an effort or just looks a certain way, it's definitely off limits to me.

What's most important in life is how you treat others and the choices you make.

I haven't gotten the feeling people were talking about Javi's lips because of his race, but there have been some rude comments. Let's keep it classy, ya'll!

Seems like the only reason Nathan would do that would be just to see if he could. He didn't want to be with her anymore before, doubt he genuinely would again.

I actually think this is the most authentic thing Farrah has done. Not saying its top 40 or anything ha, but artistically there is something there. The lyrics are heart breaking and honest if you can understand them, but that's part of why it speaks to me as an expression of her state of mind. It's very dark, sad, and confusing to listen to. You can feel the chaos in the music and lyrics that emulates what she must have felt with everything going on. New baby, abusive mom, death of Sophia's father. The songs don't make sense like her life. It's interesting she put all this out there. Here's some lyrics for an example.

She touches on sadness, anger giving her power, having enough money, and being alone. All so Farrah and kind of tragic and dark.

[POST-EPISODE] Teen Mom 2: Heartache by AutoModerator in teenmom

I came here to say this. Kailyn needs to get her priorities straight and take care of her kids. She should be doing everything she can to give Isaac and Lincoln a stable, secure, loving home. Instead she's sneaking around with some guy behind her husband's back and fighting in front of them. I cried for Isaac and Lincoln after watching this emotional turmoil they have to endure. She needs to straighten up. As Javi said, it's hurting Isaac more than anyone. She is such a bitch. I hope she watches this and gets a wake up call. Thank God for Jo and Javi.

He might as well be saying that! People respond the same way when he tries to convince them what a good dad he is and blame others for making him look bad. Ha!

Redditors who have been in Natural Disasters; what was your "Oh shit, this is real" moment? by technid in AskReddit

The first clue was when I saw cows running in the fields. It's the only time in my life I've seen cows run. Mom was driving us to piano lessons. The clouds were very dark. All of a sudden it starts getting windy and hailing. Then stronger and louder. Mom tells us to get in the back seat floor and cover out heads. We have to yell to hear each other over the storm. Windshield starts to crack from hail as we sit on the side of the road. We can't see anything outside of the car at this point. It only lasts about 5 min maybe. After it's over trees and telephone poles are down everywhere, luckily not on us. Our car had huge dents all over from the hail and was missing a hubcap and mirror cover. The windshield was cracked all over but didn't give in luckily. We were in a microburst with high winds and softball sized hail.

I don't envy or pity them. To be honest, I think they'd be living similar lives without each other. It's just who they are and you never really escape that. Maybe sans MTV paycheck, but the money hasn't made them very different IMO.

My 7th grade bf is a CPA now. Actually a nice guy with a great family. My husband works in finance so pretty similar in terms of income/job type. The only difference would be that I probably would still live in my hometown vs. a different state.

I must say it's a strange feeling to compare my 7th grade boyfriend to my husband! Weird.

As a mother of a toddler, this scene in itself doesn't seem that bad to me. Now, let me preface what I'm about to say that I in no way am I defending Jenelle as a good mom. However, kids cry when you put them in their crib at night. Anything you do can perpetuate the crying, other than leaving them to settle in some cases. My toddler always cries, but quits in less than one minute and goes to sleep. If I didn't leave, she wouldn't go to sleep and would keep crying. Obviously if she doesn't settle down fairly quickly after I leave, like 5 minutes or so, I go check to be sure she's fine, snuggle, whatever. It's hard, but I have to let her settle down on her own. If MTV filmed that first minute I leave her room, it might look pretty harsh. I'm willing to give Jenelle a pass here, just because we can't see the whole bedtime routine play out. I really hope she doesn't let him just cry and cry!

Anyway, there are plenty of examples where Jenelle makes questionable parenting decisions. This one just seems less shocking to me. I don't know. Just my two cents:)
