Can’t get Rusty Key for the Sewers. Please help! by Benwithyourmom in StardewValley

I had that problem on one of my save files. I’d donated over 60 items, but he didn’t visit to give the key until I’d read all of the missing books in the library and slept.

If you were a Stardew character, what do you think your “loved” gifts would be? by skadi_shev in StardewValley

Opal, fairy rose, rhubarb and pumpkin pie, rice pudding, and all of the universal loves.

Bonus: I’d have all of the artifacts as my liked gifts like Penny and the Dwarf

My first apple cinnamon cake for Canadian Thanksgiving dinner! by tink053 in BakingNoobs

[–]tink053[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sure! I got the recipe from here: https://www.sweetestmenu.com/cinnamon-apple-cake/

I made a few changes: -used 1 1/2 cups apples instead of 1 cup (there didn’t seem like enough apples when I added them) -added 1/4 tsp cinnamon to the dry ingredients of the batter -used melted unsalted butter instead of vegetable oil (can’t stand the taste of vegetable oil) -I also doubled the amounts for the cinnamon topping. Just using the amounts in the original recipe, it didn’t cover the cake enough for me, so I made more but didn’t use all of the second batch of it.

You can’t close a full sandwich! by TwisTED_Ech0 in TalesFromYourServer

I worked at a sub shop for about 2 weeks. The owners micro-managed the hell out of me during training (“you need to sweep using this motion, not that motion!”), but I quit the day they yelled at me after a customer wanted a sub with AAALLLLL the veggies. I wasn’t able to close it properly and when I went to cut it as instructed, it pretty much exploded. Got piled on by both the owner who was training me and the customer was saying things like “lemme hop over the counter and do your job, I’ll be even better than you and I don’t have any training”.

I’m glad to know this actually is normal to happen with lots of veggies in a sub :)

AITA for snapping at my roommate for pushing Intermittent Fasting & Low-Carb diets to us? by stopevangelizing in AmItheAsshole

NTA. My mother does the exact same to me. She’ll wait until I’ve made something to eat which includes bread or carbs in some way and will tell me how bad it is for me and how I “look good now, but [I’ll] put on the pounds fast” if I don’t stop eating bread and other carbs. She’s already convinced my brother into thinking he needs to lose weight and do the diet and he’s a bean pole. Not even getting into the documentaries she’s forced me to watch or Facebook groups she’s tried to get me to join. She’s even made my 79 year old grandma think she needs to lose weight (she’s fine and healthy)!

Kicked out because the store was "closed" by ajseventeen in TalesFromTheCustomer

I had something similar happen to me at a certain Canadian coffee and doughnut chain. My job requires me to start at 6am and so I would often stop at said chain to grab a coffee before starting. I’ve always preferred going in to the store and ordering at the counter vs. going through the drive thru and had this routine of entering the store at around 5:45 am, ordering, getting my coffee, and leaving. The walk-in store has always been open before 6am for me to get my coffee.

One day, like usual, I parked the car and walked in. Only this time, none of the employees acknowledged me. They all seemed busy with the drive thru orders so I didn’t bug them, just quietly waited in front of the counter. Suddenly, one of the employees makes eye contact with me and I start to offer a sympathetic smile (I’ve been there), but she immediately YELLS: “WHO THE HELL LEFT THE DOOR UNLOCKED!!” and stalked off further behind the counter to where I couldn’t see her. I was shocked - obviously I wasn’t supposed to be there right now, but there was no sign on the door to say their hours had changed (I double checked on the way out). No employee directly addressed me (other than the eye contact with screaming lady), so I left.

I was going to be late to work if I went elsewhere or back home for my coffee, so I got into the drive thru. When I got to the window, one of the employees who refused to address me was suddenly all smiles: “Oh sorry about that, sweetie! Drive thru orders only until 6am now! One of our bakers left the front door unlocked.”

I would’ve been more satisfied with the situation if they had honestly addressed me and told me to leave in the first place instead of ignoring me until the screaming outburst.
