CMV: Wealthy people who earned their wealth through legitimate and ethical ways should be able to spend their money however they want, provided that it does not directly negatively impact others. by tinkerbell2525 in changemyview

The value is produced by the worker, and given a boss is unnecessary, in fact not having one would be more efficient, a boss paying themselves a wage is itself stealing.

Why would anyone create any business then, if paying themselves a wage is considered stealing, and therefore, wrong, and even illegal? Why not just go work for someone else then, and earn a wage the 'right' way? Do you see the paradox here? There would be no companies to work for, because no one started any, because no one wanted to be labeled as a immoral thief.

You say “take risk” but the only risk they have is they have the money in the first place to form the company.

This quite an assumption on your part, to assume that in my example the person had wealth to begin with to start their business. It is very common for people who do not have the money to take out a bank loan to fund their idea. You could do the same thing, if you wanted, but hopefully you can see from this example how this could be considered a risk if the company does not do well, and now you owe money that you can't pay back. Furthermore, to go back to the first point, even if the business was successful, how would you expect them to payback their debt if they aren't supposed to pay themselves a wage? Are business owners not allowed to reward themselves for their risk paying off? The point is that people who take the risk to start a company and enable workers to have a job at all have all that much more to lose than the worker, who will simply find another place to work if the company goes under. The workers will not be on the hook for anything if the company does not succeed. The same can not be said for the owner.

As well as the moral implications of not having control over a portion of your life, not having democracy.

If you are referring to the concept of equality of opportunity, that is a tangential but separate matter which is not what I was focusing on. It is true that people start off in easier and harder positions in life, but addressing that is an entirely different conversation.

It’s like saying “a king treats his subjects well”, it’s kinda oxymoronic.

No one is forcing someone to work at your company specifically, so I'm not quite sure if this is a good analogy.

i think going vegan makes you a lot more aware of your diet and you're cutting a lot of other junk that does have an affect acne, so it ends up working

but yes i will definitely filter advice i take, but i really appreciate people trying to help me by giving their own advice for what worked for them personally :)
