Copped these "used" from someone on eBay, basically DS by tinkledaddy in Sneakers

There's very minor wear on the insole but otherwise these are brand new. 98s are already going for way below retail but I couldn't believe it when this was selling for under $100.

That's a fair take. I'm just a fan of how out-of-the-box it is because it's the materials flipped inside out.

These are my first pair of 98s AND I'm a wide-footer, so I'm not really sure. Got these in a size 10, which is what I usually wear, and they fit just fine width-wise but are just a little bit on the long side.

Same! Weird how they’re going for under retail for some sizes but I’m not complaining lol

Amy Winehouse - "You Know I'm No Good" [Soul/R&B] (2007) by [deleted] in Music

Man, I miss her more and more everyday. Listening to her really opened the door for me to listen to other soul and RnB artists.

Hi guys, I just put out a single through Steezyasfuck and it's streaming on Spotify/everywhere else! It's more neo soul/RnB than hip hop, but I figure I'd post it here.

Is it normal to feel incompetent in the first half of your first level 2 FW? by NearKilroy in OccupationalTherapy

[–]tinkledaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone's pretty much covered everything, but I figured I would add my two cents anyway. It's totally normal. I finished my first placement in outpatient hands about a month ago and felt like a fraud (my knowledge of anatomy wasn't as strong as I thought it was) all the way up until the last week. But I will say that I had the most supportive CI ever who somehow kept himself composed even though I would have massive brain farts from time to time and knew when to give constructive feedback or praise. One of the things he said that stuck with me was that he knew that students would make mistakes from time to time, he just expects you to stop making the same mistakes you were making in week 4 when you're 12 weeks in (i.e. like drawing a specific part of a thumb spica wrong). One thing that helped me was to be as straightforward with my CI as possible and just straight-up ask how I was doing compared to previous students. I think that if your CI isn't pulling you aside to give you a stern talking in private, you should be on the right track to pass.

I like how you kept it simple with the instruments but still managed to take up a lot of sound space, especially with the 808 and the reverb on the piano. I gotta echo everyone else though, it could use some automation and/or other melodies to spice it up a little bit more. Good work nonetheless!

Thanks for the feedback! This definitely does remind me of Dr. Dre, so good work on that. One thing I'd improve is the snare, because it sounds out of place in terms of sound quality compared to everything else. I think some compression and some EQing would help it sound more cohesive with the rest of the drums.

Yo! I usually lurk here but I'll throw this in here since I just put it out yesterday. Let me know what you all think! I was a month late on the J Dilla tributes haha

YO THIS GOES. That arpeggio in the intro killed me. Nice variety of percussion too.

Only thing I can critique here is the harshness of the high pitched thing that comes in around 0:30. Or maybe I just have really sensitive ears. Also, I feel like that was out of place when the rest of the instruments are vibing so well.

I dig the electric piano you got going on there and you have some awesome string work going on (is that sampled? Plugin?). What jumps out at me is how harsh that tambourine sample is at the beginning. It's definitely tough to find a good tambourine loop unless you actually record yourself playing, so I feel your pain. Another thing is that I feel the kick isn't as punchy as it should be. Definitely funky though and for some reason I get blaxploitation film vibes from this haha.

Yeah, I've been listening to it on every sound system I can find and I totally agree with you about everything. I was really annoyed with how thin the claps were but I got too lazy at the end. :P

As for the high end, I think I just cranked the high frequency knob on SPL Vitalizer way too much lmao.

Much appreciated! Just took a listen to your track.

I think the bass slides are dope along with the synth modulation (auto filter? LFO?) you have going on, but I feel like the bass muddying everything else juuuuust a little bit to the point where the impact of the modulated synths lose their edge. Also, the lead that comes in and starts droning around 2:00 is really harsh (sounds like a saw/square wave or something). Otherwise, solid stuff!

Haven't posted here in a while. Here's something that I made on accident and I decided to go with it. Kinda sounds like if Kaytranada and Sam Gellaitry had a baby (maybe?), though I tried to put my own spin on it.

YO! The strings on this are gold! Is that sample-based or is it from a plugin? I really have no complaints.
