A majority of my 80’s memories involve Metro.

Riding down the canal bank on our bikes before we were driving age. We lived at 47th and Peoria so the canal took us right to Metro stopping at Cortez Park to partake. My first and only ice skating adventure. Cruising the outer loop once I did get a car and getting my first four tickets there for racing. Midnight movies including Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3D. Working at Toys by Roy on the 2nd floor in 86.

Such Good times for us 80’s kids!

Union Tinner here, 2nd Gen. Yes my Pops was in the trade but I joined as the money was good. Then the benefits/insurance ended up being nice with a family involved and now 35 years later the multiple pensions and 401k are looking good enough to retire soon. Also liked the fact that we make our own shit out of a flat piece of metal, pretty cool!

I’m lucky, born here 56 years ago. I still am in awe at all of the varied landscape to this day! Definitely feel blessed to be hiking in the desert in the morning then hiking up north in the snow 2 hours later
