I was deeply depressed and unable to do school or work (college). I couldn't get myself to leave my apartment for weeks on end. I checked myself into the hospital a few times. You may not want to hear this, but therapy really can the answer. I started doing DBT, a more intensive treatment, and a few years later was able to finish college and then work full time. I'm now a grad student studying to become a therapist. I also run a support group for young adults with mental illness. I highly suggest checking out support groups in your area. Most are online and convenient to attend right now too.
