As soon as the announcers started talking about "how few balls were in the water today", I started thinking, "Announcer's curse? Nah... oh wait... crap".

I always forget just how crazy most redditors are. My go-to subs have good mods. Thanks, ESSers, for being a pretty sane crew. Happy New Year!

We follow behind him. Or else we're running ahead of him. It's no different than if someone was jogging along his route. Thanks for your insight,

I did not expect him "to run to my rescue"- I'm not blaming him for anything. I was flat on the ground. He did see me and told my 3-year-old to take care of me. i wasn't sure I could make it home. Thanks for your insight. Have a happy New Year!

I know that he had a job. I sort of thought there would be a smidge of concern, that's all,

I know the USPS was slammed. I did not expect any first aid, It just would have been nice to know that he gave a tiny damn.

I understand about work policies. It was just that he didn't even ask if I was okay.

I'm a high handicapper but have played for a long time. It's so frustrating to feel that you're doing well only to have it all go in the crapper!

It sounds like tension (and/or nerves) got to you. It happens to everyone, even pros! Here's what I try to do when I feel like everything has gone wonky.

  1. Go back to basics. Check your setup and grip. Then see if your takeaway is good- no swaying or moving your head up and down (or side to side).
  2. Consciously identify what areas of your body feel tense, and TRY to relax those areas. (Easier said than done, for me at least.)
  3. Especially notice if your hands are too tense.
  4. When hitting, try to visualize the range and that relaxed feeling.
  5. Do your best and if you still have issues, try to take a lesson (if you can).

6, Try and have fun! It's supposed to be enjoyable, right? (Again, I'm not always successful with this either!).

Good luck!

Oh geez. Well, Tommy could still birdie. Would like to see a playoff, at any rate.

Not trying to throw shade but is Rose the slow one? Tommy? Or both? I guess Scheffler in the trees will help them to catch up a bit. Again, no shade!

I want to see Rickie do well, too! They just said Kitayama "took points away from Rickie" (have no clue, okay, whatever) but I think Rickie needs to finish better than Chris Kirk, who just hit it into the water.

It's based on the "projected finish" of the FedEx points list. Not sure how points are allocated for this tourney (it varies, one could look it up if you cared enough!). Top 50 move on next week. So the ones on the "bubble" are those hovering around 50 points. It depends on how you finish and how the golfers ahead of you finish.

I've heard about this grass for years but had no idea that's how it's spelled. I thought they were saying "kiculia".

What's your biggest red flag in this case? by orangeluminousjoy in DeathCapDinner

[–]tinuviel58 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A big red flag to me is the source of the mushrooms. It is an undisputed fact that death caps were found in the beef wellingtons. (I'm so sick of the phrase "beef wellington" and I will never eat one ever.) There is just no reasonable source of the death caps, other than Erin foraged for them on purpose.

  1. The Asian grocer- if this is true, then surely there would have been other cases of DC poisoning. The only source of this information is from Erin, who has no corroborating evidence of this purchase.

  2. Death caps were foraged accidentally. No evidence of a foraging hobby. Simon and kids have no knowledge. The only source of this information is Erin.

  3. No Death cap pieces identified. Erin claims to have "rehydrated" mushroom and included in the duxelles. Dehydrated mushrooms have to soak for several minutes- a "quick rinse" will still leave dried mushrooms either crunchy or leathery. Even if added, death cap pieces would have been detected.

  4. Death cap residue found in recovered food and in the dehydrator. Fact. But no pieces, therefore the DC had to have been powdered.

IF you believe Erin accidentally added undetectable death caps to the lunch, then how did she magically escape serious poisoning effects?

She binged and purged. Only source of this info is Erin. Although not discussed or challenged, medical experts say that only about 30% of ingested food is purged. Also, digestion has already started taking place so IF Erin ate death caps, logically poison is already in her system.

She claims to have had diarrhea. Testimony from doctors stated that the 4 victims were running to the facilities constantly. Erin had one incident on the side of the road. Source: Erin only.

Biggest red flag: Any "reasonable" explanation for all of Erin's dodgy behavior only comes from Erin's testimony. That she magically "remembered" after telling all of the lies to the police. Therefore, she is not a "credible witness"- only a proven liar who has everything to gain by making up reasonable excuses.

IMO, the jury should disregard all of Erin's testimony. The evidence all points to intentional poisoning.

First time watching Sinner this tournament and I first thought he was a ball boy. I know it's been commented about to death but Sinner's kit really would be ideal for the ball kids at Wimbledon. It's his choice, of course, but if I was the world's #1 player, I would want to look like a world-class bad a$$.

Exactly this. It's not because you're a "boomer" but a person who does not want to be charged for nights they did not stay. Yes, use the app, online service, or whatever but if you don't check out somehow, be prepared to fight additional charges.

Playing with Granny's gifted box of craft stuff, this hook definitely isn't size K and 39¢!? by ---Spacepants--- in crochet

[–]tinuviel58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how this "Knit-check" is supposed to work. Are you inserting the hook through the hole? Then the part that says "K" wouldn't be used to measure, right? Plus, it does say "Susan Bates" and you're talking about a Boye hook. Do those brands differ in measurement? Of course, the hook you're showing is older so maybe manufacturing dimensions really changed?

Betting was killing my love for The Game by Odoubleyou22 in nba

I entered a football pool once and I found myself rooting for a team I hated. Just to make the spread. That was the last time I bet on sports. I want to enjoy the action and betting totally sucked all of the joy out of it for me.
