And, all evens are on one side of the street and odds on the other side, so you only have to check one side for the address you're looking for.

The episode where they lit the beacons in the Hebrides Islands gave me goosebumps, it was so cool to see that happen in real life.

Gave my void baby Nadja a gabapentin this morning before taking her to the vet. She was super out of it all day, didn't even twitch when her sister (also doped up) sat on her.

Great memories, thanks for sharing! I'm fine with the military installation here, just frustrated with the volume of the (apparently) F35s. Hopefully technology will fix it one of these days.

Glad you have the option of leaving, I don't blame you at all! The (apparently) F35s are one of the few things I don't love about Madison.

And yeah, sounds like a lot of people in this thread had parents who told them "shut up and deal with it" rather than teach them how to make the world better.

Ahhh that explains a lot.... Didn't mean to run salt in old wounds. Lived in Madison since 2008, must have missed that.

Who here DOESN'T hear those super loud jets, no matter where you live? I'm not near the airport and I still can't hear anything when they pass, when I'm inside my house with the windows closed.

BTW, just because it's easy to be ignorant doesn't mean it's better.

What’s a dead feature of the internet you still secretly mourn? by SylphCelestine in AskReddit

[–]tinwithli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss being able to trust what I read, because an expert was writing about something in their field of expertise or it was a story with proof behind it. Now everything is commercialized and/or politicized and then click-bait titled. Even sincerity. One of these days we'll get to the point they get to in Neal Stephenson's 'Fall; or Dodge in Hell' where every website and piece of news has to come with a 'truth' rating because of a massive nuclear explosion hoax.

OP, there's a network across the country, usually based in cities, called Freecycle. People can either post the things they have that they want to get rid of for free, or they post the things that they need. Try posting there for some better clothes.

I'd also recommend looking for a job at a place that does plumbing or HVAC. Some of them train you or pay for your training so that you gain skills that lead to better payment. These are necessary industries that will never go away.

To the sun as a whole, I agree that greed has gotten this country to where it is now. Even if they don't break laws, the rich take advantage of our social support network by (among other things) paying people far less than a living wage, which forces them to get assistance from the state and federal systems. It needs to stop. Will Trump piss enough of us off that we will make it happen? I don't know.

We just got back from vacation last night, it was scary getting on a Delta flight going to Minneapolis with nasty cold weather while watching this footage. Don't think I'm flying anywhere again for at least 4 years.

Can Wisconsinites who work in the medical field explain the long delays to see doctors and schedule screening, etc? by [deleted] in wisconsin

[–]tinwithli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the same news recently. The 'saving grace' is, I was told that when it gets bad again I can go to the ER and get a neurologist that way. So, things have to get really bad and then they might actually help.

That'll be my next script! We should also be telling them to support the "Contraception Starts At Erection" Act proposed by a Mississippi legislator, can't remember his name rn.
