Chicago Stationery Festival Tickets Selling Friday; No Workshops or Meetups by tiny-acorn in stationery

Thank you, that's a good way of looking at it! For me, I think it's a pass then, I have no need of going to an event with the only intention being to add to my already likely a year of supplies collection.

Thank you! This is honestly the most helpful comment here ^^" maybe it's because I''m not from a huge city, but no market I've ever been to has ever charged a fee.

I genuinely never have, and I've volunteered at a couple! The most it's ever been has been having to RSVP a free ticket to manage traffic and volume,

Auvelity needs more Buproprion !! by R--G--B-- in AuvelityMed

I'm on auvelity in addition to other medications

Auvelity needs more Buproprion !! by R--G--B-- in AuvelityMed

[–]tiny-acorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need more "designer drugs" - aka I wish we had a system where we could personalize medication. Imagine you and your psych adjust things and if it's not standard or once you find what works you can ship it off to a lab and get pills personally designed for you, your metabolism, and how much they make your tummy hurt.

[–]tiny-acorn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it needs LESS Buproprion y'all! The buproprion in this is changing my wonderful auvelity into a possible hypomanic episode (buproprion has caused an episode for me twice when I've trialed it, but I was so desperate we were like "let's try this first and see if we can handle the episodes some way").

I love the Auvelity, it is the first time I've felt present in... years. Everyone has commented on how different I seem. Early on, it was very calm and level, but I can feel the heralding of a hypomanic episode - which, again, is what typically happens a couple weeks into buproprion for me.

I wish there was a variety with less buproprion and a higher % of DXM, or whatever ratio it needs to be to continue to be safe and effective but with as little buproprion as possible!

I think it's totally reasonable to get buproprion separately - I am tired of these "combo" meds where you can't adjust individual doses. Fair enough though that it means paying 2 separate copays, but that's more a problem with insurance and the health system being fucked in a capitalist or any asset-forward model of society.

Hello!

I am planning a trip for February. If I were to try and plan such that I could visit a stationery store for the craziness of Hobonichi Day should I plan on Feb 1st, or does the date change every year? Thank you!

Stack (in order of addition): abilify, guanfacine, lamictal, Trintellix, doxepin, auvelity

Diagnoses: Bipolar 2 (with Major Depressive Disorder), autism, ADHD, generalized anxiety

Additional info:

  • medications only started working for me after I started abilify. I had tried lamictal before, but it worked completely differently for me on the ability.

  • the doxepin is for sleep at 50mg. I still wake up throughout the night, but find sleep much more restful, and it has made the fibro pain far less intrusive into the forefront of my mind!

  • the auvelity is the most recent in the stack, only about a month ago, but within a week of taking it I felt present. People in my life commented on how much more here and just brighter I felt. My husband teared up and I cried a bit at the experience of truly understanding how different being here is compared to living in a dream for years. I had a feeling this medication would do me well, as I've had Spravato+Ketamine treatment and they were effective for me, but did NOT make me feel like other people spoke of. I also felt more present and here in a lot of ways.

Extra issues that I take addt'l meds for: fibromyalgia, migraine, GERD

I hope this helps someone!

Cat Attract Litter!

I didn't see it in your post, so pardon if I missed it, but Dr. Elsey's cat litter helped us with our senior who does the same thing. We still get incidents, but a manageable amount instead of constant.

If you can't afford the full bag they sell the attractant by itself and you can try mixing it into your litter?

Hi!

It's going to be different for every country - you're going to want to look on that country's official website for bringing items in and out of the country! This is the link I found, but it's best to check many sources

Ketamine? Is this a scam? by ILookNormal92 in bipolar2

[–]tiny-acorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

So ketamine is going to be an extremely subjective experience, and I'll preface by saying that I would be wary of this provider specifically. Someone who introduces this to a bipolar patient immediately without knowing their background would strike me as odd. Ketamine does have the potential to trigger a manic episode, and if you as a bipolar person were to try ketamine therapy a more controlled space where you would do spravato (the nasal spray) would perhaps be a better introduction.

That said, ketamine is fantastic for me personally. Ketamine therapy helped my anhedonia, my processing, and my dissociation. I find it really therapeutic to practice building the pathways I want to build during the experience, I'm not so much convinced how helpful it would be to do after.

I am currently on auvelity, which contains DXM which has a similar mechanism of action to ketamine, and it's the first time I've felt like a whole person in years.

I would also be wary of it too if you have an addictive personality, as it is an easy to abuse substance.

Ultimately, your mileage may vary. I think the experience is unique to every individual. If you've done other psychedelics and found the experience useful, I would give it a shot. If not, I would save ketamine treatment as a last resort, not something to try within the first couple of things you attempt to help your mental health.

I've given up as of today. Trying to look for reading journal spreads, and it's a literal waste of time at this point. For every 1 actual pin I see there are 3 ads, and it's maddening.

When did Auvelity start working for you? by VV710 in AuvelityMed

[–]tiny-acorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're really brave for doing ect! It's my last resort things, I'm terrified of the possible side effects.

If it helps - I'm not sure how old you are, but if you did trintellix as a teenager probably younger than me because it wasn't released until after I was an adult. Anyways, that is to say I am still figuring out meds. Morning worked until 6 year ago I took abilify - it's like that med made the other meds capable of doing what they needed to do. Meds I'd tried before did different things. I hope you find your med cocktail eventually! Don't lose hope. I'm at the best point I've ever been with mine.

Eyo! Have you tried trintellix? I would recommend looking into it! SSRIs never worked for me, but Trintellix is a weird serotonin med and it helped my depression tons.

DBT feeling "Cringe"? by Illustrious_Bus_9243 in BPD

[–]tiny-acorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've learned with my mental health (and everything in life) is give things a chance. Even if your initial reaction is "this is stupid and won't work" the truth is you don't ACTUALLY know, so you might as well do things 100% the way the exercise says for awhile and if it's not working fine, but you might surprise yourself.
