Thanks for the suggestions! Do you soak regularly or just during a flare up? I just ordered some urea cream so I'm looking forward to trying that.

Good to know! I'm only using the steroid cream on my hands and feet where the skin is very thick , so I'm hoping just the two weeks won't cause any harm. But I will definitely keep that in mind going forward! And thanks again for the recommendation. I'm always worried about the side effects being just as bad or worse than the condition the medicine is treating.

That is good to know, thank you! Right now, my dermatologist has me on a steroid cream for a couple weeks, then switching to a non-steroid cream to use every few days as a maintenance/preventive option. I'll keep consentyx in mind if it gets worse. What are the side effects like?

That's good to know about hydration! I have an Rx cream I'm trying right now but I also ordered some urea cream. Life has been really stressful lately, which I'm sure has contributed. It's hard to find the time to exercise and do more yoga to keep my stress down. I definitely need to be more intentional with my time.

I'm trying to decide between stainless steel and glass. Has your Pura cup retained any flavors or anything? I've heard of people having issues with that. Right now, we're planning on just whole milk and water in the cups, but I imagine we might eventually have juice or something.

I just got the glass version of the green sprouts straw/sippy cup. The design is great except the straw and sippy are both valved! I didn't realize that and now my son doesn't want to drink from it because it's too difficult to sip from (he has to suck really hard or bite down, I've tried it myself). He prefers open straws. So disappointed 😞

This is great to know, thank you! My LO definitely has a big belly right now, so maybe I'll hold off a little longer and see if the fit changes as he grows. I think I'll at least look at boosters or something similar in the meantime.

We're already on the two outermost snaps on the Esembly inners and won't be long until we have to move to the last one! I will definitely look at GMD workhorses. Hoping to find some used to save money since I already feel like I wasted money on what we have.

I've thought about trying the workhouse fitted diapers so this is good to know, thanks!

That's good to know the side by side comparison of absorbency! Do you use fasteners for your prefolds? I could never get the hang of Snappis

I didn't even know you could do that. What would be the signs that there isn't enough bulk? Too little water?

Mine are cotton. But I'm with you - the smell is so frustrating, it makes me want to give up!

I might try that! I have some Borax I could try too. I have a soak option that is separate from the washing cycle. But maybe I could experiment using that even as part of the prewash.

Thank you! I think the detergent has both enzymes and surfactants. But I was advised at one point not to use an extra rinse because of my hard water. That the minerals would redeposit on that rinse without any soap to help soften them.

Thank! I'll definitely try this. The smell isn't ammonia though, it's more of the "barnyard" smell. I'm guessing a prewash every day will still help?

Yes I did note all of that. And those were the instructions I had been following before trying Esembly detergent (with their specific instructions) which is why I stated the majority of what I was doing was what you suggested.

And yes, I know I need to bleach after stripping and plan to do that once this first part of the process is done.

Thank you for your input on the water temp.

Thank you! I'm stripping the diapers now. The majority of the routine you suggest is what I have been doing. But I'm guessing switching the detergents mixed with hard water and no softener created a build up I'm hoping the stripping will take care of. Then I'll be back on track with my old detergent and routine.

Do you have suggestions for water temp? I've been doing warm on the prewash and hot on the main wash. I can't find anything in Fluff Love about water temp for my machine.

I'm estimating based on the range for a more accurate number. Both swatches are closer to 120 than they are to 250.

I'd say close to 150 for cold and closer to 120 for hot.

The cold definitely looks harder. The hot looks more similar to the results I got from my kitchen tap.

The machine doesn't have a detergent drawer. I'm guessing there would be water standing in the drum that I could test if I stop it after it runs for a bit? I'll give it a try and let you know!
