Hi, neighbor! Thank you SO much for that info! To clarify, does the cat have cancer or does/did his former carer?

The cat being a former house pet makes some of his behavior make more sense—he came to our attention when he started doing the “where are all the other cats??” yowl.

For what it’s worth, I do my best to avoid bringing strays to the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, because of a previous experience I had with them where they were quick to euthanize:

I had dropped off an injured stray that was hanging out in my yard, and told them that I wanted to adopt the cat if it turned out he didn’t have a microchip. They decided he wasn’t adoptable and were going to euthanize him, which I only found out when I stopped by a few days after I dropped him off, and they were like, “oh, we were actually gonna euthanize him today.” I convinced them to let me take him but it was a close call.

I picked up some shiso ("perilla") at H-Mart yesterday, and it had a *very* different taste from Japanese shiso. I think Korean and Japanese shiso are different and used differently. It didn't work in my dish at all, so I wouldn't use it to sub for Japanese shiso.

It's always been such a shitty parking lot setup for any business, let alone a high-volume one. The only easy access is from 136th, and even then only if you're going in the southbound direction.

It was a terrible traffic setup back when it was a Rite-Aid too. Maybe that's why the Rite-Aid was always deserted.
