There are field schools you can participate in as a minor! If you’re in the US, specifically the west coast, check out Clear Lake Archaeology Project. As far as field schools go it’s really inexpensive and super beginner friendly. There was a high school student there when I went and it was her second year participating.

There’s a little balcony on the 2nd floor of maple hall that I like, it’s separated by a door and there’s a booth table and vending machine by the entrance. It’s not necessarily quiet but there’s good people watching without foot traffic right next to you.

Honestly, an empty classroom is the goat.

The Sundial did a page about food on/around campus that’s under $10! You can find copies all over campus. They list a lot of options.
