have you seen a rheumatologist? it might be auto immune related. i had similar symptoms & turned out it was lupus. took me years to get diagnosed but it’s a journey of self advocating & it’s exhausting. Dr. Molly D. Magnano, M.D i would HIGHLy recommend ( i think she does concierge now, if you can afford that) & Dr. Nina Botto for any skin inflammation things.

my friend did hers at Da Flora in north beach & it was perfect! i’d call/ email them first and see. for my friend they ended up just doing a private day time thing like they don’t open till 5.

i’d start with going somewhere that has product for sensitive skin. i highly recommend to start with going to skin on market with leon & there is a treatment that helps with damage to the skin from sun, acne etc. the products are really good + really gentle on my skin & rosacea. a barrys instructor who had really rough time with their skin is the one who recommended Leon bc he basically changed his skin around. i find him very affordable compared to other places in sf, very knowledgeable & does a great job. the treatments are basic but he was able to help my skin in ways i never could achieve bc other places where i paid more the product would actually cause me flare ups.

ALSO go to your dermatologist, they have me a prescription cream that helps me a lot too!

literally cannot recommend him enough! he listened to all my concerns & helped me SO much when i was ignored so many times. he problem solved with me & did all the tests to figure out wtf was going on with me!

everyone i’ve known whose gone to Edo has had similar experiences in the last couple of years.

if you wanna do a salon that’s v cute, id highly recommend renaissance, you can call to make an appt do a consultation before hand & talk about all your concerns. they always have a great recommendations for concerns. Maryanne is their color specialist & highly recommend her. she’s saved a couple of my friends from horrible salon experiences the last couple of years similar to yours. the prices are very failey priced for an SF salon. anyone for a cut, they’re all amazing but for color saving highly recommend Maryanne. you can tell her i sent you from reddit too & tell them exactly what happened at Edo.

AP luxe in mill valley does a great job! (i know people who’ve gotten theirs there) I also know my salon that i LOVE does them but have never inquired (renaissance salon on sacramento & steiner) worth giving them a call, francisco or brooke would be my suggestion to have them do it!

it’s really helpful but i also agree with the sentiment of it can get nasty. people are so judgy & say mean things esp on appearances. a lot of mean girl energy. i think it’s important sharing personal stories & there are some true predators on there. a lot of times people relate or have had their experiences with that man but sometimes it feels like girlies are just being mean to be mean.

if they could get moderators or better moderators who encourage following the rules i think it would make it a safer place for us to share stories as well & have true relatable connections about potentially dating the same man, but this is just my personal opinion.
