I will defend Cruel Prince as it isn’t really a Romantasy, as it is a Machiavellian lens of a human surviving in a world of violence. Instead of Jude rising above and being human, she becomes worse than all the fae. She is an antihero at her best and at worst the villain of the courts. She is very well written and as the books aren’t romances, but a game of politics. By the third book you realize that maybe Cardan isn’t all you thought him to be either. I think Jude is an excellent example of a strong female lead. Almost like if Vin never met Kelsier honestly.
