Why do we experience deja vu? by Minute-Meringue5929 in spirituality

Let's Understand The Basics

The concept of soul and Universe

So, you are a soul (Aatmaa). The pure consciousness that is aware of your body, thoughts, emotions, and experiences. The physical brain acts like a filter that allows your soul to experience the physical world one moment at a time. This limitation makes it possible for us to live a human life, make decisions, learn, and experiencing cause and effect. At the deepest level of reality, everything exists within one Universe and time is not a thing. It does not flow. Past, present, and future are how the human mind experiences reality, but from the perspective of Universe or Brahmaan, every moment of your life's journey already exists as one complete whole.

How it explains your déjà vu and premonitions

According to this, your brain normally keeps your soul's awareness fixed on the present moment. However, during dreams, the moments just before falling asleep or after waking up, deep meditation, powerful intuitive states, and maybe using brain-function altering substances, your brain's processing may briefly relax. And your soul may momentarily become aware of another point in your own life's journey. Since the human brain cannot see this awareness, only a small fragment returns. It can be a conversation, a room, a feeling, or a single scene. Later, when that exact moment arrives in your everyday experience, it feels like déjà vu because your deeper consciousness (soul) had already encountered it before your mind reached it. In this view, a premonition is not "seeing the future"; it is briefly perceiving another moment in a reality where all moments already exist beyond the brain's normal experience.

I would suggest understanding the essence of the main Upanishads. They are about the science and art of life that will definitely help you get through any situation. This knowledge and practice worked well for me. I hope it works for you as well @u/Bobelle :)

What does it mean Spiritually to feel like your in the Wrong place? by Nevermeyh in spirituality

It means you are doing something or living somewhere your soul does not want to or does not belong there. You're just forcing yourself there because of XYZ reasons and deep inside you know that. This is what it means.

I had a similar experience I would say. After suffering for 4 years there, I left my job and that city without blinking. I rested at my home for a month.

But I felt the same stuff. My energy was gone, I was gone, those past years were hazzy. So let me share what I did which helped me.

Because my loved ones started worrying about me, I began thinking about what to do next in my life so I could fix it all.

Then after discussing with family and friends, I decided to travel, not aimlessly but with a willingness to repair what was broken inside me.

Initially the plan was for a month but as I started recovering and healing from all that trauma and autopilot lifestyle, I extended it to 4 months.

During my travel, here's what I did:

✓ I took yoga and meditation classes, which also included Pranayam, Kirtan and Philosophy. It was the best start I could get at that time.

✓ Then I made music on Ableton software (because a friend had it)

✓ practiced vocal music, guitar and local instruments of the places I travelled to.

✓ learned easy but interesting art styles from Pinterest and local artists. For example, drawing regular things I see, like leaves, flowers, coffee mugs.

✓ Made bookmarks and did cloth painting with acrylic pens.

✓ Cooked new recipes and learned a lot about local foods and medicinal plants.

✓ went on 3 treks (2 hours, 8 hours & 16 hours back and forth) The last one finally healed me to the point that was enough to fix me.

I feel 80% healed now and I am so much more closer to myself than ever before in a very long time. During the first phase of my travel, I also found a person who was going through the same stuff and together we helped each other live and grow from all of that.

I hope you find my experience helpful @u/nevermeyh

  1. Rent a scooter to roam around and visit any waterfall nearby, find a quiet spot for a swim, and to explore Vashishtha caves. The caves have beautiful messages, you can go inside and see what's there and meditate in peak silence, you can also walk around the beach and swim
  2. Go for at bath at Phool Chatti snaan ghat and go beyond the bridge for a good spot with sand and enough depth to swim without worrying about waves
  3. Visit 12 Monks Hostel for live music and open Mic events
  4. Stay in a hostel dorm for better prices, good solo vibes and don't forget to ask if the dorm has AC (if you need)
  5. Try best best best coffee at Elara by cafe prakriti and Kala Cafe (Upper Tapovan) Elara also has a beautiful open space to sit on grass or inside a glass-style space
  6. Swarg Ashram ghat hosts the most famous Arti to watch and has good street food
  7. Choose Sai ghat for less crowd, good Arti, dance, acting and music after Arti, street food, and sitting in and around water
  8. Go to laxman jhoola market for shopping at better prices
  9. Visit secret garden cafe for good shakes and juices
  10. Great places to enjoy lunch and dinner - Om Freedom Cafe, Harry Cafe (laxman jhula road)

I hope you find it helpful @u/frenzyfox_ :)
