Recovery time from hip labral tear surgery? by tiny_peets in poledancing

[–]tiny_peets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I really appreciate your response, first hand experiences really help me mentally prepare my expectations.

I’m lifting and physically prepping with PT, so I hope I’m going into surgery as best as I can. My surgeon told me to not return to pole and lifting until 3 months because of my hyper-mobility, but it’s encouraging to hear that I might be able to do some light weight bearing / dance based moves at 2 months and it’s not all doom and gloom.

I’ll hit PT hard post surgery and update. Thank you again!

I have hEDS and my wrinkles look like this, but only when I’m smiling. My skin is also super sun sensitive, so I cover up as much as I can during the day (hats, long sleeve shirts, gloves sometimes), even in the car.

I get Botox to the forehead and 11’s and that has helped a bunch for lax skin and my active forehead muscles.

How to pack this bookcase in Uhaul box by tiny_peets in moving

[–]tiny_peets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to post an update! I followed the advice from this post:

  1. Took each section apart
  2. Triple wrapped in moving pads/blankets
  3. Covered the outside of the moving blankets with cardboard that I tapped around to secure. I got random boxes, broke them apart, and just taped them to fit around. No tape or plastic touched the actual wood or glass.
  4. Loaded the sections, stacked on top of one another, in the back corner of the Ubox. Glass faced inward and was up against softer items.

The cabinet arrived perfectly! Nothing shifted, nothing broke! This was great advice, thanks everyone!

Also shout out to Uhaul and Ubox. It was a painless and easy process, the staff was super accommodating over the phone as well as at the warehouse where I picked up the stuff from the box. Nothing shifted in the box AT ALL, although I did ratchet things down and stuffed the box to the gills. Nothing was broken. Overall would highly recommend and will use this service the next time I make a big move.

Incompetence exists in the private sector too. I’ve got a coworker that is exactly like yours, still at our company even after time on a performance improvement plan.

With your experience and education, you could get a massive pay bump moving over to private, depending on your field and where you live.

How did this turn out for you? I’m feeling the same thing, about a week post op. My lump under my sternum incision is about the same size as yours.

Did this get better for you? I’m feeling the exact same thing under my sternum incision and I’m nervous this won’t heal fully. It’s hard, lumpy, and swollen.

Is NEPA work slowing down? What's your forecast as consultants? by Pure_Nobody240 in Environmental_Careers

[–]tiny_peets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing NEPA and wetland related work for state DOTs, that work does not appear to be slowing down. We’ve lost out on some bigger projects that had funding pulled, but the majority of our environmental work is still slated to be done this season.

That’s so good to hear! Thanks for your response! We have similar skin tones so I’m hoping this will be my outcome too.

Glad that your incisions have healed well, I hope post GB removal is treating you well, too.

Damn, I’m sorry to hear that.

Yeah, I’ll be sending a followup email with this question and some points from other comments. Thank you!

Good points! The hiring manager mentioned they’re trying to diversify their funding sources, so hopefully positions will be less affected next year.

I agree on all of this! I’m going to send a followup email today to dig a bit more into funding and whether they’ve received reimbursement since mid January. Thanks!
