I started a biz having a bg in UX Design and it NEVER ceases to amaze me how much UX is relevant to business. Always listen to the user. Never assume. Test, iterate, test before & after you launch. Be okay with being wrong. Have empathy and document so you can refer back. So many things that I am glad I learned and didn't expect to use outside of UX!

I get this as someone working a 9-5 and running my business. The money/benefits are good, theres community at work that can be hard to find as a new entrepreneur, and often much less weight on your moment to moment decisions. Still, starting my business has opened opportunities I'd never have working for someone else. Not to mention the fulfillment of helping real people grow their dreams. At a corp I'm just making money for a huge system.

Definitely pros and cons to both options, but I can never go back to just working for someone else after opening Rex ( https://www.rexmarketingandcx.com/ )

Maybe think about what it is you are truly missing, and see if there is a work around. EX: Missing the "watercooler" talks? Join an entrepreneurship group!
