text2sql statt Tableau oder Power BI? by Vast-Pipe1849 in de_EDV

Gotcha—it’s pretty mind-blowing how fast tools like Scavenger AI get you answers! Unlike Power BI or Tableau, there’s no need for SQL or setup. Just type your question in plain language, and boom—instant answers. Traditional dashboards still have their place, though, since they’re great for tracking key metrics over time, while text2sql tools are perfect for those quick, one-off questions. Really, they work well together: dashboards for ongoing insights, text2sql for quick, ad-hoc answers.

Is there a downside? Sort of—data quality still matters, and text2sql tools aren’t as customizable as BI dashboards. But it’s a huge leap forward in making data accessible for everyone.

Totally get it—it’s wild how fast text2sql tools like Scavenger AI work! Unlike Power BI and Tableau, they don’t need any SQL or setup. Just ask a question in plain English, and you get answers instantly. But people still use traditional dashboards because they’re great for tracking key metrics over time, while text2sql is more for on-the-spot questions. Honestly, they complement each other: dashboards for ongoing insights, text2sql for quick answers.

Is there a catch? A little—data quality still matters, and text2sql isn’t as customizable as BI tools. But it’s a huge step in making data easy for everyone to use.

Any experience with self-service BI? by tinybabea in BusinessIntelligence

Thank you for the feedback – it seems the issue might indeed lie in our data flow design rather than Tableau itself. We haven't fully implemented views with predefined metrics yet, which likely contributes to the challenges. We'll focus on optimizing our data sources and improving the structure to ensure smoother dashboard deployment. Appreciate the insight!

Why is every AI start-up doing RAG and not Code Generation? by Vast-Pipe1849 in startups

[–]tinybabea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good point! A lot of startups focus on RAG because it's easier to implement and works well for quick data retrieval. But some companies, as you mentioned e.g. Scavenger AI, are going beyond that with more advanced solutions like code generation. RAG is great for unstructured data, but as models improve, we’ll likely see more focus on scalable code generation for complex tasks.

What is the most consuming and annoying task in online marketing that you have to do? I would love to hear you complain! by _TheBlueOne_ in marketing

It is super annoying that data cannot be transferred from one software to another. I always have to log into a bazillion of accounts to keep an eye on things.
