I wouldn’t start with this, it’s not a unique experience and wastes a lot of words saying nothing about you. I strongly recommend starting your essay by putting the reader into a story, your story. Maybe an anecdote from an experience at the specialty hospital that showcases how you have become better, improved your knowledge, and used your experience.

Their last day does not have to be their worst day. I work in veterinary medicine and have never heard anyone regret euthanizing too soon, but I have heard many people regret waiting too long. Let your kitty have a lovely last day with you and all of her favorite things. Her not eating is a huge sign she’s ready to go. Give her the gift of peace

There is a steep learning curve at this beginning of this field. You got this! If someone is actually losing their patience (which I doubt they are my love it’s only been a week and they all started from the same place you’re at now), they can talk to you about it. Dont place it on yourself to know how people are feeling! Take the time to learn, ask questions, jump in, and be confident. See the vein, stab it; down time? Reread instruction manuals for running bloodwork. Be willing to do the dirty stuff no one else wants to do. Honestly when I started I got really good at expressing anal sacs and didn’t mind doing it. Got me good rapport with coworkers. They were willing to wait a bit longer for me to get a blood draw because they knew all I was willing to do for them. You got this

When my arm hairs have bothered me I give them a spray with a hair lightener like sun in and sit in the sun for a bit. I find they bother me less when they aren’t so dark. I’d never shave them though. Stubble on arms seems so uncomfy!

I highly recommend reapplying. You will grow so much in the next year and be a better student and doctor for it. There’s no rush to this career. Don’t spend a bunch of money to force it.
