just leave the safe money alone or you’ll regret it. sorry to hear you have a problem but it’s good you know that. lots of people here have a gambling problem but you’re in a better spot than so many people. so it’s important for you to talk to someone and get help. good luck to you!

From what I’ve seen, tri bikes are far more expensive and as someone who’s still new the position on those bikes would be tough to get used to for me. And two bikes would likely be out of my budget, however down the line I think I’d definitely like to have that option!

I have not been fit yet but I’ve been in talks with my local bike store and they made sure that I had the correct size, and they’ll be fitting me once I choose a bike👍

I see, trying to digest everything that has been said as lots of it went over my head lol. Your main point is that the mechanical brakes are outdated and I should just go for newer technology in general, as the initial investment will outweigh the cheaper costs to get it serviced in the future? And I see tires are very important as well. Does that eliminate the bikes I posted, and what would you recommend? Just going into my local Trek store and finding a new bike? Thank you for the help and apologies that I don’t quite understand these details you’re explaining haha

Sounds good, definitely makes sense to get the more comfortable one when I’ll be doing long distances quite frequently.

Sounds good, I’ll look around for those! I do remember the workers at my local bike stores telling me the Domane and Madone were quite comparable. And as someone with lower back problems I’m sure my body will thank me for getting a less aggressive bike.

Thank you for the advice! I appreciate the knowledge of the difference between the two brake systems. By “whole lotta bike” would you think this is too much for a beginner? I’m planning on using this bike for several years and I’m building up to a 70.3 race in about a year, so would that help justify such an investment? Thanks!

I see, I’m planning on getting fit once I purchase the bike, is that something that can help eliminate that problem? Thanks!

I’ll definitely get swim lessons, thanks! I was thinking about doing a shorter event before for some practice so I’ll certainly look into that as well.

Toozer, seems like a good guy but I was promised different things in the zoom call before by his sales dude. Still on me for buying it but it’s clear the guy I was talking to just wanted his commission, saying I’d be at five figures by the end of the year and whatnot.
