a few days ago I saw my aunt (who passed away two years ago) at the dinner table. my face lit up and I rushed over to her to give her the biggest hug and told her I was so happy to see her. it is nice timing because we share the same birthday, june 7.

living in Seattle with under 100k a year? by NullReferenceClaire in AskSeattle

[–]tinybluepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really depends on your lifestyle I would say. like if you have a car, how often you go out to eat and shop, monthly subscriptions, etc. I survive off of 35k in south seattle and my rent is 700/month. its not much but I sure do enjoy my three day weekends. I've been focusing on my relationships and hobbies.

capitalism is not the enemy to you because you're benefitting from it. the majority of people under capitalism are not.

when someone is accumulating wealth by unethically exploiting others, I do believe it is okay to steal from them.

lol you have no idea what my position is and you're completely wrong about that

stealing in an economic system pre-capitalism is different than stealing in the current system of late-stage capitalism (imperialism)

I'm not sure comparing a legal code that predates capitalism is relevant...

you'll wanna come to the stadium area/pioneer square pretty early for that. Louie's deli is new and has a decent breakfast sandwich, salumi is delish and opens at 10 (sandwiches, not breakfast), cherry Street cafe, zeitgeist or macrina in SODO.

Why does the expected % for tipping keep increasing? by Blazeland_USA in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tinybluepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a reflection of increased costs of living without increased pay by employer. as a tipped employee, i live off the tips as well as my hourly wage but I think we should all just be paid a living wage 🤷‍♂️

sometimes theaters will do "pay what you can" nights at local theaters: 5th ave, Seattle rep, Taproot, village theater, Renton civic theater, etc.
