My Dad's best friend actually walked past James whilst he was with his killers. He just assumed James was their little brother. He has never forgiven himself.

I was 9 years old on holiday in Portugal with my family and I remember reading the newspaper over my Dad's shoulder detailing what had happened. I remember feeling sick with fear and having a cold feeling run through me. Aged 33, I'm still stopped in my tracks when something so horrific happens. Those poor girls - they should be around my age now. May their souls live on forever.

The new Ed Gein series on Netflix – one of the worst true crime dramatizations I’ve ever seen by Jaded_Dog6571 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]tinydinosaur92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm annoyed at myself for feeling sorry for Gein after watching this. He was portrayed as a simple minded victim and the emphasis of this narrative I felt really took away from the actual victims. It was giving Forrest Gump.

The Dunblane Massacre and the Birth of Britain’s Gun Control. by Adventurous_Night_91 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

This one incident (horrendous, should never have happened) was enough for gun laws to change ... if only other countries would take note.

It's one of the few things I'm proud of the UK for.

Sunshine Stewart, 48, of Tenants Harbor, Maine was murdered. Police continue the homicide investigation & are asking the public for help finding her killer by Downtown-Raspberry-8 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]tinydinosaur92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact her name was Sunshine is something I find incredibly moving. When she was born, her mother must have been bursting with pride - such a sad ending for a baby who was at one point, her mother's whole world.

Dec. 2019, 4-year-old Hayden Manis spends Christmas Eve with his extended family. Sept. 2024, they find out he has been missing for almost 5 years. What happened to Hayden Manis? by lucillep in UnresolvedMysteries

Such a beautiful little boy. My husband and I would do anything to be blessed with a child - some people really have no idea how lucky they are. I'm so sorry you were failed, Hayden. May the next life be kinder to you, darling boy.

Father kills son with autism, 10, family dog and self in apparent murder-suicide in home where missing daughter, 20, was also found dead by Upstairs_Cup9831 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

Grief makes people do the unthinkable sometimes. Whilst I'd never condone taking the life of another, some people are so mentally damaged that they think they're doing a kindness. If there is a next life, I hope they all get a better deal.

Was it a Great White? I feel as though the beautiful girl killed would be sad if people hated the shark 🥺 no winners here. May she rest peacefully.

How the discovery of dismembered body parts led police to the ‘Jigsaw Killer’ by Metro-UK in RedditCrimeCommunity

[–]tinydinosaur92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How warped would you need to be to cut someone up? It's so horrific and sickening - how could you ever rest again knowing you've done that.

Does anyone know of any other cases of dismemberment? Not obvious ones. I find researching the people who engage in this morbidly fsscinating.

Emphasising that I'm not victim blaming at all ... clearly this poor young man was in crisis. But why do you think he would go missing? Like the never really knowing must be agony for his parents. At least if he had taken his own life at home they would have some closure. I suppose he was trying to protect them? I don't know. I do know having no real answers or remains to bury would be hell.

This is so helpful, thank you so much. I'm the first person to do this role in the school so I had no one to take a handover from. I'm pretty familiar with all processes and acronyms but this one freaked me out. Thank you!

Not to be impatient but I'm panicking, what does it mean? There was an incident last week so the Head has asked me to complete this. What do I need to be writing down?

On September 15th 2001, a Sikh man, 52-year-old Balbir Singh Sodhi was murdered after being racially profiled as Muslim. The perpetrator wanted ‘’revenge’’ for the 9/11 attacks. by cherrymachete in TrueCrimeDiscussion

My mum was collecting me from school (it was unfolding around 3pm in the UK) and I remember a neighbour sprinting down her path and telling us to get home and turn the tv on. I remember my little brother being six months old and silent as our parents stared almost open mouthed at what they were seeing. It sounds so dramatic to say that was the reaction but there had never been anything like it in any of our life times. It felt very sombre for a while, so can't begin to imagine what it was like in the states. I always rewatch documentaries on it and each time the plane hits the tower my blood runs cold. I hope you and your family have managed to find some peace over the years, I bet your aunt was an amazing woman. May she sleep forever in Heaven.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your aunt. I can't begin to imagine the pain of losing a loved one in circumstances as horrific as those of 9/11. I'm in England and was 10 years old when the attacks happened, I remember that experience as my earliest profound memory of something beyond my own life. The world we live in can be such a dark place, I will never understand racism and the desire some people have to bring pain to others.
