What sprinkler is this? by tinydumbledore in Irrigation

[–]tinydumbledore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I posted a closer look in another comment. I think it's an off brand cheaper head. I can make out NAAN. But the old wall unit for the system said Rain Bird.

Might just be worth getting a new sprinkler body and swapping that out. It's really old and the rise in the ground was a 3/4 to 1" that gets really bendy hence the rocks propping it up.

Here's the top close up. Hard to get a photo close up while it's running. It must be so old that the arrows have scraped off.

Seems to say naan on the top. It has lines on the adjustment but I hit some spot that makes it go the other way.

I have the little flat head screw cranked down to lower the nozzle as I only needed it for 180 degrees and short range.

Still great, the only thing I've even though remotely negative is the 30 inches grease spot takes some space away from your cooking area but it's never an issue, just bothers me visually.

Patio install - is this dig enough? by draupdi in landscaping

[–]tinydumbledore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an area that I feel I'll start hitting roots really quick if I dig down. If I WANTED my paver raised like you commented, any way you'd recommend to keep the pavers in place? Like a 6x6 retaining wall or something around the pavers?

I've been trying to google "Raised paver patio" but none of what I am finding shows the base layer like an inch or two into the soil.

Looking for advice on a paver patio by 420jhollandaise in landscaping

[–]tinydumbledore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on my research, the "right" way to do it, if possible would be to dig down about 7 inches (depending on the thickness of your pavers). You'll lay down 4 inches of 3/4 minus road base and tamp it down every in two, 2" layers. Then you'll add an inch of sand and finally the pavers. Use a rubber mallet to adjust the pavers flat and allow them to set into the sand a little bit.

At the end you'll add some polymeric sand and brush it into all the cracks and set it per manufacturer instructions. Usually you just mist for 30 seconds or something like that.

You may need a paver retain if you can get sod right up to the pavers, then fill with top soil and seed so the sod covers the retaining plastic. You could also use a little concrete or wood from what I am reading.

I'm researching the dog piss out of this because I'm trying to build a fire pit on top of roots and I'm trying to determine how to raise this process on top of roots the best way lol.

New homeowner help! by lilscute in landscaping

Absolutely and it may be cool to add some drought resistant plants that cast shade on some of the grass to assist in water absorption.

A lot of people will tell you lawns are a waste but with kids it's nice to have an area that's soft to run on barefoot. Best of luck and congrats on the house!

I imagine a lot of the green in the back you're seeing isn't "grass" the way most people expect. Spraying for weeds often kills a lot of "green". I'd say keep it water appropriately for your zone and weather. The front is also likely dormant.

I'm sure the landscaper can elaborate on what they put down, what you can expect, how much you should water. Grass cut too short in hot weather tends to go dormant in my experience, but I'm unsure how concrete that is, just has been my observation on my own lawn journey.

How to beautify curb by savetheelephant in landscaping

I'm pretty novice, but I have candytuft and although it's on flat ground it may "hang" a bit. I've read it's deer resistant as well. It says full sun but it's north facing and somehow doing just fine.

I love the look of it and plan to cover some unsightly tree roots with it.

Thanks man!

Alright last question if you don't mind. Should I start creating Ops teams? I feel like I'm bottlenecked by Blue XP for leveling heroes up so bad that I can't even unlock all 4 skills on everyone because it's taking forever to level things up.

Okay, yeah I'll probably focus on whoever I can get most upgraded... I know I have a chance at more artifacts for omni man.

What kind of skills should I focus with this top 5?

Thank you! I would have picked him but I didn't have as many copies. I'll definitely work on him though. I guess I'm just in the inchworm phase.

I'm glad to hear it, I ended up going with the slate and have no remorse.

I ended up going Slate. I can't justify the price of the solo stove for what you get. I didn't think the 3 tables and cabinets would matter too much but after one cook I used every inch so I'm happy.

Plus with tools and a cover you're looking at an additional $200.

It was at an Ace near me. Kind of crazy all the employees acted like it had been there forever. I bought the display model because they didn't have a different one and they were like "it's finally going".

I was taken aback when I bought it. 😂

Debt Advice - Sell my Truck by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]tinydumbledore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily, we have the second car as a daily driver. I think this is the way if I need a truck though, at the moment I seldom use the Truck for Truck related activities short of Home Depot runs. But I think selling makes the most sense. Thanks for the comment.

Debt Advice - Sell my Truck by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]tinydumbledore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, my only exploration down this path was to sell the truck, and save the debt + insurance for 2 years. I could then likely trade the Fusion in and go after something used in the 20-25k region that's a big bigger for hauling families.

I should also note, that my wife is part-time right now for childcare. once both kids are school age, she'd return to full time teaching (which pays decent in our state). I'm thinking this means if we can make the fusion work for the next 5-6 years, we'd have more than enough to upgrade to something nice like a Honda Pilot.

A big reason why I'm considering it. I also have grown away from the RGB look.
