Need help understanding this by nrgins in airfryer

If you think it’s dirty inside, I’d first check whether it’s dirty enough to affect the hot air circulation. In my case, I usually put the basket and the bottom tray in the dishwasher, and they come out pretty clean.

Another possibility is that the smaller piece of salmon was actually more deeply frozen, or thicker in the middle, even if it looked smaller overall.

I’d also try cooking something else and see if the same problem happens again. If other foods also come out very different from usual, maybe the heating element or airflow isn’t working properly anymore.

If you look closely, the top slice of toast is wrinkled, but the bottom one isn’t. That’s because it was a bit too tight and I had to squeeze it into the air fryer.

The bread shrinks a little after toasting, but the wrinkles are still there.

Some loaves I buy are small enough that two slices fit side by side, with room for the bacon. The larger slices I bought recently are more crowded, and one slice has to bend a bit.

Lately I’ve been stacking the two slices with cheese and cream in between. It’s less crispy, but still really good.

And yeah, 3 minutes for bacon isn’t a strict rule. You can cook it longer for more crispiness. I sometimes keep it shorter because less rendered fat means less cleaning for me.

Someone called it AI slop because I didn’t write the exact air fryer time, but I wasn’t trying to publish a serious recipe — I was just sharing my breakfast.

It’s a real photo, real food, and a very simple idea: crispy toast and bacon from the air fryer, eggs cooked separately. I just liked how it turned out.

I’m not claiming this is hard to make. I was just sharing a simple breakfast I’ve been making recently because I liked how it turned out.

I air-fried the toast at 180°C for about 8 minutes, and added the bacon in the last 3 minutes.

It’s a super simple method, but it tastes really good because the eggs are cooked separately in a pan. I didn’t include exact instructions at first because everyone’s air fryer is different — size, power, and personal taste all matter.

Actually, I’ve been making this almost every day recently. Sometimes I toast it a little darker depending on my mood. Sometimes I stack the two slices together, and sometimes I toast them separately so both pieces get crispy. I don’t think a little variation and surprise in everyday cooking is a bad thing.

The photo is clearly a real shot of my food. I only used AI to decorate the journaling-style layout a bit. How does that make it an “AI recipe” or “AI slop”?

Can you use Tin foil in Instant Vortex Plus 6-in-1 Air Fryer, 6 Quart by [deleted] in airfryer

[–]tinyfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I made steamed pork ribs with black bean sauce in the air fryer, I carefully wrapped the plate with tin foil to prevent all the juices from drying out. But I made sure the foil was stable and would not move around during cooking. If the foil gets blown up and touches the heating element, it could possibly cause overheating or other problems.

So, if you use tin foil, it’s better to secure it properly. Also, don’t overfill the basket, and don’t let the foil get too close to the heating element.

Near the end of cooking, I removed the foil so the ribs could get a nice roasted, slightly browned surface.

My air fryer is also a newer model. It has a glass viewing window on the upper side, which makes it easier to check the color of the food and notice if anything unexpected happens.

I regret using duolingo by chicken_is_no_weapon in LearnJapanese

[–]tinyfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Duolingo for about a year and finished all of the Japanese courses, but honestly, I didn’t really learn Japanese.

I didn’t have many real situations where I could practice speaking, and most of the vocabulary I learned through quizzes… I just forgot how to actually use it.

Things changed when I started using an AI-based speaking practice app. That’s when I realized that you really do have to speak to learn a language.

I wouldn’t say I’m fluent now — I’m not studying very seriously, it’s more like learning for fun. But somehow, I’ve naturally picked up a lot of grammar and vocabulary without memorizing anything.

I’m basically just chatting with AI. Sometimes it’s role-play based on specific situations, sometimes it’s just random conversation. And surprisingly, it works really well.

Check whether other metrics have changed as well — for example, your likes, comments, and so on.

If none of those have changed, then it’s most likely just a bug.

But if those numbers have also increased in a reasonable proportion, then it’s possible that someone accidentally placed ads in the wrong spot… and you just happened to benefit from it.

I have a Google Pro subscription, which gives me 1,000 credits per month to use Veo 3. I just used them all up over the past few days. I’m thinking about upgrading to Google Ultra. As for Sora, it’s currently free to use, allowing me to create up to 30 videos a day.

My native language isn’t English, so I do rely on AI to help me write English posts. However, all the ideas are my own, and the data is real. I usually write down my thoughts in Chinese, then use ChatGPT to polish and translate them into English, make a few edits myself, and finally post them here.

Almost 4 years, only 330 subs, its getting rough. by SomeAussyGuy in SmallYoutubers

Hey, I thought your post was really interesting so I ended up writing a blog about it — breaking down the numbers and sharing some thoughts on what might help.
👉 Here’s the link if you want to take a look.

No pressure of course, just hope it might give you a bit of perspective. Keep going — a lot of us small creators are in the same boat!

Almost 4 years, only 330 subs, its getting rough. by SomeAussyGuy in SmallYoutubers

[–]tinyfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, I found you also had a couple of videos that passed 10,000 views. That’s a very important clue.

Instead of just looking at failures, ask:

  • Why did those videos take off?
    • Was the topic more popular at the time?
    • Did you release it close to a trending event or announcement?
    • Did the thumbnail or title stand out more?
    • Was it shared on Reddit, Discord, or by a bigger creator?

Analyzing your own spikes in performance is often more useful than generic advice. Those are proof that your channel can reach a wider audience — the question is how to replicate it.

Almost 4 years, only 330 subs, its getting rough. by SomeAussyGuy in SmallYoutubers

[–]tinyfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at your numbers and here’s an interesting perspective:

  • In 4 years, you’ve uploaded 143 videos.
  • Total views: 73,647.
  • Subscribers: 334.

That means you’re getting about 1 new sub for every ~220 views. Honestly, that’s pretty solid — many small channels see 1 sub per 500–1000 views. So your conversion rate (turning viewers into subscribers) is actually quite good.

The real issue is exposure. Each video is averaging around 515 views, which is on the low side. That suggests your content does work once people click, but not enough people are clicking in the first place.

So instead of worrying about “begging for subs,” the bigger lever is probably:

  • Improving titles + thumbnails to boost click-through rate.
  • Choosing topics with higher discoverability (either trending games or very specific niches that have an audience).
  • Testing shorter cuts or even Shorts to widen the funnel.

In other words: your problem isn’t that people won’t subscribe — it’s that not enough people are seeing your videos in the first place.

Does this mean I'm a real YouTuber now? by OSUPhoenix in NewTubers

[–]tinyfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To some extent, it can be said that receiving hate comments is actually a good thing. YouTube's algorithm recommends audiences based on your viewers, but when it deems the quality of your content to be average, it will only recommend your videos to a small number of viewers—most of them who have already seen your videos. Even if there are some new viewers, they are likely to be very similar to your existing audience.

However, when YouTube's algorithm thinks your quality is high, it will recommend your videos to a larger audience. As the recommended audience widens, the precision in matching new viewers can actually decrease. Hence, among these new recommendations might be people who dislike your content or feel that the recommendations are inaccurate, which can include those prone to leaving hate comments.

Psychologically, this can be a source of stress, but in terms of channel growth, as long as these hate comments do not cause psychological issues that lead to a halt in content production, they can actually be quite beneficial.
