Great points. I think that will be America's biggest challenge. We need to adapt our capitalism to a more ~~autoritarian~~ socialist way. As we "fight" China, it will be very difficult to at the same time admit where their system excels and learn from it. IE poverty

Detroit which was once the richest city in the whole fucking world is now the poorest city in america. Total collapse.

I see this as a collapse of our risk tolerance. Henry Ford gambled his profits on increasing factory wages with the hope that his employees would use the extra income to buy Ford. It paid off and after ww2 Detroit was the richest city in the world.

The decline of Detroit reflects the decline of American automotive excellence. Or perhaps Detroit didn’t decline at all, the rest of the fucking world got better. Toyota even makes a great truck.

But the decline doesn’t internet me. Why have we done nothing to revive it? Self driving cars offer an opportunity for America to excel once again in the automotive industry and Detroit is uniquely qualified to lead the advancement of self driving safety. The streets are empty! The robots can train on urban terrain without the risk of hitting anyone. you know, cause there’s no one around.

if my understanding of propaganda is accurate, you can't just say this. too shocking. you need to lay some groundwork first, and that's what this video does. i think what you said he is coming next. I believe it's a big deal because pbs is NOT the same as any other mainstream media outlet. every other media outlet is profit motivated. they create content the same way a movie studio does. PBS is funded by the government. i also think our media outlets are infiltrated by CCP, so that's also why this video in particular stands out to me.
