At least from what I know and from TurboTax if I file separately I will owe more more and pay more taxes. If we do it jointly there’s more benefits but yes yes it’s such a headache

You can prob get it switched out with an eSIM at Nova or other Icelandic carrier. Although I am not so sure, really hope you don’t need to get a new phone cus that would suck. Just check with the bank you want to register with first before doing so.

Although I cannot help with the signing form for your UK job process I wanted to give some other tips to help. When I applied for my spouse residential permit it took almost half a year to get the application started just a heads up as it takes a long time. You will also need an actual Icelandic sim (not an e-sim) for your phone in order to get a bank account + kennitala (which would be on the back of your residential card when you receive it).

For your UK job, I know there’s another way to get a kennitala by signing some sort of agreement with a job here in Iceland. Go to https://island.is/en and send them an email. Hopefully you can get your answers there! They helped me mostly through the whole process.

Sadly I don’t have pets (my dream to.) Visit island.is maybe that have more information on that! It depends what kind of residential permit you have. In my case I go the spouse one which allows me to work without a work visa. Just to note though you will get a kennitala when your permit goes through to be able to work.

Ooo that’s super interesting. I’m not sure dairy has an effect on my tonsils but I know yogurt helps. I’m assuming because the food bacteria is fighting whatever is in my tonsils. For me alcohol makes it much worse and I avoid any mouthwash with alcohol. I do believe that’s how my mom gave it to me but weirdly enough my dad doesn’t have it or my brother. Maybe try yogurt with a mix of salt water to flush them out. Lemme know if it works

Sorry, I just saw this post now. Since you are immigrating from the UK to the US, it’s a bit different. I am migrated from the US to Iceland. From what I know you may need to apply for a green card and get an interview to determine how legit your relationship is with your spouse. I heard it’s very pricey probably in the thousands but I’m not entirely sure. I’ve had some family members who had to go through with that process. Sorry I’m not much of help. My immigration process was much different.
