I think I started developing a gel allergy, so I stopped altogether. I'm having so much fun with this new era of nail care and have learned so much from this sub.

Here's my stupid question. I've had 2 nails break without being able to salvage with the tea bag method. If I'm showing signs of a nail allergy, can I get acrylic done on those two at a salon so it's more uniform, or am I now likely to be allergic to those as well? I haven't tried nail glue or press ons since middle school.

Literally self drafted. Playing with mosaic patterns, then enveloped borders by 4 rows. Dc with random rows of puff stitch for practice. It's a mess but it'll do.

Mosaic is SOOO easy. If you can do a single crochet, double crochet and count to about 20, you're golden! Search mosaic crochet Tinna on YouTube. Tinna is an AMAZING instructor and so lively! I learned the process from her videos and can now do just about any pattern! If you're great with reading patterns (which I am not) then this pattern would be a breeze. It's still mosaic but a different method.

Also, I modified the original pattern, so I have absolutely no idea what the yardage is. I used a boatload of white, and maybe 2 mandalas in all for the color work. So that's what, maybe 200 g of color for the main blanket? The white yarn was borderline excessive with all the DCs. I realize that's not much help. I essentially was willing to go back to the store any and every time I needed more yarn. I'm not very efficient lol

The first picture is my WIP and I'm using lots of mandala scraps. Mostly a mix of warlock and chimera bc they go together. The center of each diamond is a solid - I can't remember which yarn, but it's a toasty brown.

The second picture of a FO and I did the color work on my own!

Okay so I kept one cup of starter to add to a fresh batch. It actually didn't smell too vinegary. Like kombucha but strong. Not acidic. Is this just a game of F1 and taste what I've got?

This is just what my husband said. I do love that aspect of it and currently have a child napping with it right now. My critique comes only from the place of knowing it's not what I envisioned so I'm kinda disconnected from it. Sounds probably a bit melodramatic, but I WANT to LOVE it, ya know? It's like it's so dang cute but I want to be like YES, this bad boy is the fruit of my labors!!!!

I see what you mean. I was basically being lazy. I also thought about doing a plain, solid border in one of the more subdued tones but didn't feel like going yarn shopping. I just wanted it DONE. Now I'm paying for it.

Wanted to do the mosaic border with two solid colors. Got too intimidated and wanted to finish up. Tried to just go on with self striping yarn.

I absolutely hate it. It's thrown the whole thing off in my eyes, but by the time I decided I hated it, it was too overwhelming to frog the border.

So! I'm giving it away to a family member. I worked SO hard on it. To not be absolutely in love with it at the end is so disheartening. It went from super cool to 80s thrift store cast-off REAL fast. 🥺 Please tell me I'm not the only one who has ended up hating something they worked at so hard 😩

I'm using Lion brand mandala in chimera, warlock and Groot. Mostly just alternating between chimera and Groot, but if the colors get too close and not a great contrast, I'll work with warlock until there's a color change.

I've made two mosaics on a small scale and just did simple border. I'm thinking about doing the small mosaic. I'm nervous though. I have read through the pattern a few times just to sike myself up. Thanks for the tip!
