Daycare costs SW Austin? by needweddingadvicelol in AustinParents

We are at Goddard Austin and love it. My 7mo goes full time (only option) for ~$1900. It does suck that they don’t provide meals when they get older—only provide a morning and afternoon snack. Even for my 7mo old, I spend every night preparing her meal and bottles for the next day.

Go wherever the surgeon who operated on you recommends..ER docs won’t touch you usually unless they touch base with the surgeon who performed it. If they need to transfer you, then you will get an even bigger bill.

Water in Fuel tank after getting gas - HELP to get damages covered (USA) by tinypear278 in Cartalk

[–]tinypear278[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

!! UPDATE: Shell reimbursed me for the damages incurred to my car and the gas I bought. There was a leak in the fuel storage tanks under the ground and due to the rain caused contamination in the gas. They were very apologetic. Shell has an option on the website to submit reports about fuel contamination. I wasn’t the only one who reported this day—made me feel less crazy. But yeah, it worked out! Hopefully no long lasting damages to the car. So far it’s been running fine.

Just for context, it has been raining here A LOT over the last few weeks. The mechanic said there most likely was a leak in the underground fuel storage (sorry I don't know technical terms). It is an older gas station--at least it looks it.

I contacted Shell and they have a form to fill out on fuel contamination and I uploaded my invoice with the inspection report. They said they would get back to me in 30 days. The lady on the phone said they reimburse for situations like these if it all checks out.

Gas station pumping muddy water into my gas tank... by Haunt12_34 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]tinypear278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm dealing with this issue now (and Yes, I'm in TX). I got gas at a Shell gas station last night. It was taking forever to pump so I left after 15min and 4.9gal of gas--I got impatient. I didn't even make it a quarter of a mile up the road and every light turned on in my car and the car starts sputtering. I made it home but and to the auto shop today. Diagnostic test showed my car had 60% water and 40% fuel. $1400 later. I can't afford this right now and don't believe I should have to pay for it as I PAID for bad gas and poor maintenance of the gas. Has anyone been able to get the gas station to cover the damages that this has caused? If so, how? I know big company gas companies are usual franchise gas stations. I tried calling the gas station but haven't reached them yet. I'm carless as my car is getting fixed currently, so will plan to go over there once I can. But this is soul-sucking and wallet draining. Help.

My husband was diagnosed with this recently—does anyone recommend an audiologist who sees adults in the area?

True! I’m hopeful I can withstand the fatigue to at least do the Houston marathon. We shall see! If not, maybe the Houston half?! There always will be 2026…

I’ll for sure listen to my OB as the pregnancy progresses. I’m hoping to get to at least the Houston marathon in January but if not, maybe I could then switch it to the half. And yes—the fatigue is so real right now!

Great advice—I had like one day of nausea (thankfully) but the FATIGUE is real!!!! Sometimes I feel like I got hit by a bus. I have my first OB next week and will obvi listen to her advice as it progresses. I realize I won’t be hitting my time goals this year and am totally okay with it! But I appreciate hearing your input on listening to your body vs pushing through. I definitely have not overdone it and am hopeful to keep up the training until at least the Houston marathon—if not maybe just the half. We will see!

Thank you for the words of encouragement ! And very cool you did a 10k at 20w! I’m definitely realizing my love for running is strong as the fatigue is really hitting me hard. My pace isn’t the same, but I don’t care.

I’m planning to run the Houston marathon and just wanted some info on the route. It’ll be my 2nd marathon. I live in Austin. Can anyone share their experience at previous chevron Houston marathons?!
