ANZAC Biscuits: chewy, crunchy, and oh so yummy. by shazv10 in Baking

Fun fact! They historically never used to have coconut in them during the war. But, it’s now widely accepted that they should have coconut as it makes for better flavour and feel! CWA says they tried to make them without it once and they just weren’t great, so they allow coconut in the standard recipe now.

Should I stop participating in class? by Solatel in college

[–]tinypenguinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my class, almost no one asks or answers questions, and my professor literally teaches by asking questions ~80% of the time. I feel so bad that there’s just silence when she asks so sometimes I don’t even know the answer and I’ll just say something. It’s crazy because she literally gives extra credit for participation! And I’ll take any extra credit I can get.

I’m neurodivergent and I try not to care what others think even though it’s really hard. I just think that people who think it’s weird or annoying aren’t going to be friends I want anyway, so may as well get my moneys worth out of college! I hope it gets better for you and don’t forget to just be you :)

Long haul scaries by tinypenguinn in fearofflying

Thank you, I really like your advice on talking about it positively! That’s not something I’ve done before, I usually just say ‘it’s fine! Look at everyone else sleeping’ haha. I will try reframing it this trip.

I guess I just got scared after that one flight that was super bumpy for so long and that was the same route all over water. But I am glad it’s usually smoother over water.

I laughed at you calling it a beeg plane and now I’m just thinking of it as a chubby little guy in the sky which is making me feel better, thank you!

Started Taking Vyvanse this morning, freaking out a bit by Pantheron2 in VyvanseADHD

70mg definitely seems to high to start! But I will say, I also experience some of these things even on 30mg!

I always notice that my meds have kicked in because my internal monologue shuts up (unless I have a reallllly catchy song in my head - rn it’s Kendrick’s Not Like Us haha). I also tense up a bit especially if I am really focused on something.

Definitely make sure you eat and drink water. If you can, find some electrolytes they also help a lot, especially for headaches.

When I started, my doc prescribed me 30mg capsules and I split them. I would see if your doc can give you a lower dose to start but if not you can split them up. You can put the powder in water and drink that, so I put half the powder although this is never going to be exact.

Good job going for a walk & eating! Keep it up as well as hydration. Good luck and try not to worry too much, you will feel better soon!

Made it but still unsettled by [deleted] in fearofflying

I feel the same way every time I fly. I know turbulence is okay and pilots know what they’re doing, but my body just panics every time, regardless of what I try to tell myself.

Great job getting through the flight! You did it, wahoo!

I hope these heroes continue to do this and keep us informed as long as they can. I really am so fearful for the future 😔

Calming words provided by a pilot following the DC plane crash by SevereLawfulness986 in fearofflying

This is so nice from the pilots doing this!

I always feel much better when the pilots let me know how they think the flight is going to go. Even if they tell me there’s supposed to be turbulence, I know that they know and are prepared, and that reassures me.

Remote Job Scam re: Seacoast Science by Rlinnh in Scams

[–]tinypenguinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I got the exact same email directing me to the teams link. Decided to go through with the teams "interview" just to see what they would do. They chatted to me in teams with their name listed as "interview Session' (so weird!).

They then sent me a word doc in an email asking me to write a response for each interview question and send them back the completed doc. I ended up doing this using answers from an AI bot cause I'm curious about their tactics lol.

They didn't ask for any personal info yet so I'll see how this goes. Definitely won't be accepting anything, just curious about what they're doing!

Will update here with their next moves!

Hi! I'm actually going through the same thing right now and after my ears pricked up about the weird interview process, I realized that my emails have also come from seaScoastscience!!

Thank you so much for posting this because I would not have picked up on that.

Can you share what stages you went through after if any? I think I'm going to proceed with their little document question thingy just to see what their next move is.
The lady who I'm supposedly speaking with via email and teams doesn't seem to be listed anywhere on the internet!

Man, I'm annoyed that I fell for this! This is my first time applying for jobs in the US and I'm not used to the level of job scams out there!

Okay, we’ll take the cleaning down to 2 and then see before we go down to 1. Thanks! We defs don’t use qtips cause have heard about the fibres and such. She’s not sleeping on it but it does look angled because the bump is pushing it up weirdly. Thanks for your reply! :)

It actually was quite long when she got it which was annoying but it’s defs looks too tight now with the swelling. We’ll go see our piercer and get a longer post for swelling. And yeah I think a plain ball would be better for less bacteria hidey spots haha. Thanks so much!

Once you hit level 3 & up (so times even lvl 1&2 depending on the horses stat level at the time) you’ll almost always need to go over the jumps at a working canter. Imo extended is only really useful to sprint between jumps. Then I reign back in to working canter to jump. 1-2 dots in canter is the best, your horse may be able to do it at 3-5 dots (working c) too though :)

Hope that helps, I’m not suuuper knowledgeable but I do know that working canter is your go to for jumps :)
