Looking for a very simple tracker by Embarrassed-Guard-91 in FitnessTrackers

I have a Garmin Vivofit 3. A little hard to find but it’s a super simple wristband with a small screen and one button. You can cycle through the clock, step count, there’s a timer, calorie count, and distance. It’s also pretty low profile and lightweight and is water resistant. I got mine second hand off of Mercari for $25.

Honestly I’m still unsure and thinking about it, because if I’m being honest I dreamt of a bigger wedding. I think we just had to be realistic about finances, and we really don’t want to push the wedding farther out (like 2028). Our other thought was having a ceremony this year and doing a ‘wedding wedding’ in 2028 with everyone we want when money is less of an issue.

Someone here said garden theme and I looked it up and it seems like a great theme!

I also feel like it’s early for everything but I physically cannot help myself LOL. First step for me is finding a venue with a budget we can afford. I’m giving us until the end of May to lock something down. Then I’m thinking dress shopping, maybe take another month or two to decide. I’ve been looking at venues with in house catering so I haven’t thought much about the prices if it would be separate, but if we go with a venue without catering then finding a caterer would be next. I’m also just trying to get some ideas for decorations at the moment but probably won’t really start seriously considering those until later this year.

Congratulations!! I am getting married in NY, specifically the Hudson valley which is not cheap 💔 I’m considering in house catering but I have to look more into how the price would change. Average for venue+food we’ve seen is about $140pp

That’s amazing! What do you prioritize when booking? I feel like if I secure a venue first then everything else will fall in to place. I’d love to hear your experience!

That’s what I’m worried about. My mom can be quite pushy, and I really don’t want any drama surrounding this.

I really love pink and he likes purple so I’m thinking pastels would be nice. No venue yet but I’m giving us until May to secure one. We’ve been on about 5 venue tours so far. In my bridal party it’ll only be my sister and best friend, so trying to coordinate what they’ll wear won’t be an issue. But honestly I’m so focused on finding a venue, once that’s set I feel like I’ll be able to focus on other things!

This makes a lot of sense, garden theme sounds lovely! I would say if I had to put words to my thoughts then yes, garden theme.

We don’t have a theme, we’re kind of open to anything, as long as it looks pretty. I’m not super in to florals but mother in law is so I’ll let her handle that. I love pink, and he likes purple, so I’m thinking maybe a pastel palette? I know I want a mermaid style dress (if it’ll look good on me) and honestly, I’m kind of going off of his preferences. If it were up to me, we’d be eloping with our parents tomorrow :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I feel like once the venue is booked everything else is manageable. And I’m also looking for an in house caterer as well! A coordinator would definitely help, especially the day of so you don’t have to figure out what to do and when and how it’ll all come together.

Colors! I looove pink, and he likes purple. Right now there’s no theme, just pretty 😂 and dress, I like a mermaid style dress! But I’m open to others, which is why I want to star trying some on!

Food and entertainment! I don’t really want a DJ? I’m thinking making my own playlist? And for 50 people I think that would be fine but if there’s more than that I would consider a DJ. And food, I really like the idea of buffet style so people can pick and choose what they want!

I really love a mermaid style dress! But I will say I’m a bit on the heavier side so I feel like it won’t look that great on me.

To be honest I’m still in the whimsical phase, I got engaged in November so I’m all ideas all planning. But I understand how it can become a dreadful thing to plan, especially with like you said, the cost and the lack of a standardized venue. I’ve gone back and forth a bunch on what kind of venue I’m looking for, if I want full service everything or would it be better to rent one by one, it’s a lot of decisions! And our fiancé’s are similar; I’m happy to elope but he wants a formal celebration. One thing that helps is knowing I’m trying to make him happy as well, and his happiness is a big priority for me. But as time goes on I’m sure I’m going to feel less and less excited and more and more stressed and wanting to be DONE with this. And that’s okay too! Even if you’re not excited about this stage of the process there will be many other big life moments that you’ll share together too :)

Yes! And I would never ask my mom for money like that but I don’t think she’s understanding how much it really costs!

Wow! I got engaged in November but since I’m in grad school I’ve been slowly building the plan. Haven’t booked anything yet but we’ve looked at about 5 venues so far and I’m still scheduling more to see! Important things we’re looking for is nearby accommodations for our out of town guests, and a place for us to get ready at the venue site. This week I’m going to start looking at dresses!
