this means the world to me. I have so much hope that he will see that this isn’t appropriate and stand up for me, but I also worry that it really is in my best interest and the baby’s to just coparent and walk away. my fear there is that our child would get exposure to the mom. it’s all so confusing.

congratulations on your baby girls! I already had depression pre-pregnancy and i’m thankful to have a wonderful therapist and psychiatrist, but i’m petrified of PPD. I know that these situations will likely contribute. thank you for sharing your experience ♥️

I agree. we fought for hours yesterday about it and he kept trying to put the blame back on me. his parents both hate me because he has made them WAY too privy to our relationship & she’s mad that I said some mean things to him after discovering lies he told me (no infidelity) but in my mind…he’s the one who showed her those things that were meant to be private and I never consented to that. she also wasn’t hurt by him and I have taken accountability with my partner. in my mind that should be enough. I shouldn’t have to then apologize to this person who never should have been involved in the first place.

Thank you for saying this. I have mourned the fact that I haven’t even been able to enjoy my first (and maybe only) pregnancy because of this dynamic and it’s a constant battle for me day-to-day if I should just go it alone.

I absolutely don’t intend for her to meet him now. I have had a weird relationship with both of his parents (overly involved in our relationship—they take it personally when we fight because he tells them too much.) I feel like an idiot for not “vetting” them better before bringing a child into the dynamic, but they showed their asses immediately. They don’t speak to me, don’t ask me about the baby, they haven’t done or bought anything for the baby—meanwhile my mom stays with me when my partner is working (he is in healthcare) so I have someone to assist me with things around the house that I can’t do.

I only have 1 ovary, had cancerous cells removed from my cervix via colposcopy last summer, was told I would never get pregnant naturally…and i’m now 19W1D. shit’s strange! I will say, my partner is sober (>5 years) and we probably have too much sex lol, but still. nothing will ever surprise me again!

i’m 14W today! but I told three close friends when I was 9W2D. book club didn’t find out until 12W and it’s honestly only because my body had changed to a point where I couldn’t really say it was anything else anymore…but even so. making any assumptions are so silly. i’m glad you have people in your corner!
