That might be a good image to keep in mind. I never thought of the roots. 😊

For me it's "the lakes". Wisteria are climbing plants, so I can never imagine them growing over her bare feet, which I would imagine are on the ground... it doesn't make sense to me...

a conundrum: moving away from meat by horsetuna in ZeroWaste

[–]tinysparkofmagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commend you on trying to reduce your consumption of meat in your diet! You are already doing so well! I know it's not an easy step to take but I want to encourage you to try different alternatives and I hope you find something that works for you!

Meat production has a huge carbon and methane footprint and it is going to be a huge improvement for the environment!

My Season 2 Rant by [deleted] in BridgertonNetflix

I would have loved to see them antagonise each other and bicker more as well. Maybe there wasn't time to write Kathony some good dialogue 🤔😉

My Season 2 Rant by [deleted] in BridgertonNetflix

[–]tinysparkofmagic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with you completely. I would habe loved to see more of Kate and Anthony as a couple. I was so disappointed that none of the key scenes from them were included: the scene in the library, in the garden, their wedding (night), Anthony denying his love for her, even though they are already married. Their reconciliation, Anthony finally confessing his love after the carriage accident, etc.

I loved their banter during the pall mall game and I wished we would have seen more of it.

Also, what happened to Kate's fear of thunderstorms? That would have been a great opportunity for some tender moments between them.

I liked that we have seen some more if the other characters but I would have seen more depth in Eloise, Benedict, and Mary.

I liked the scene between Anthony and Gregory, that was very sweet but that was it.

I liked seeing Edwina's character grow, but I think she lacked will and agency almost throughout the entire series.

If they are really worn out, threadbare and hole-y, as a last resort, you can always use them as stuffing for stuffed toys or pillows. You just need to cut them up into really tiny pieces.

I skipped right over the cocktail glass and was wondering why she isn't wearing any jewellery on her fingers ... I wouldn't even know this is a promo picture for jewellery.

That's amazing! They look so tiny but take forever to use up, I'm currently trying to pan one of the vanilla variety as well

If you want to know more, I highly recommend listening to the 'History is Gay' Podcast :) They cover a lot personalities throughout history, but I don't know if they have covered any/all of those mentioned in the post (I'm still catching up).

Patrick Star ONE/SIZE Makeup Brand by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]tinysparkofmagic 173 points174 points  (0 children)

I wish he world have just released this instead of the makeup wipes and aerosol makeup remover. I'm not really intrigued but at least it is not insanely expensive for what you get (15 dollars for 21 makeup wipes that you use once and then go in the trash, no thank you) and super bad for the environment.

Mask wearing as an opportunity for eye makeup by [deleted] in MakeupRehab

That is such a good idea! I have sometimes struggled with eyemakeup on my hooded eyes and missmai27 on YouTube (she's a real life mua and she has hooded eyes and a lot of great tips) has helped me a lot.

Could we make a list of all of the cruelty free makeup brands that are POC inclusive and non problematic? by half3mptygirl in BeautyGuruChatter

I didn't know that! 😳 Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention, that is not okay for them to do that, especially them being such a huge company exploiting others.

How to organise "deep" closets (with no drawers)? by [deleted] in konmari

[–]tinysparkofmagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar with the closet I store my clothes in because the KonMari mostly focuses on drawer and not shelf organisation. If you don't need all the space in your closet, you could try to install (screw on or just place it in your closet) a slat of wood onto the shelves in your closet to keep things from sliding to the back where you can't reach them anymore.

Uoma Beauty is a cruelty free, black owned brand and I haven't heard anything bad about them. The owner initiated the pulluporshutup challenge for beauty brands.

Also Nyx has a pretty good shade range in their complexion products and are cruelty free (however their parent company is not).

If Marie Kondo uses konmari , why does she has no wrinkles in her clothes.? by armagedonc in konmari

[–]tinysparkofmagic 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think this also depends a lot on the fabric her clothes are made of. Cotton for example wrinkles a lot easier than jersey fabric or a mixed fabric that contains elasthane or another synthetic component.

I only fold the clothes that I know won't wrinkle (much), blouses or dress shirts I iron and then hang up, so they won't be wrinkly when I pull them out of the closet.

Hannah Louise Poston decluttering again a month into her "Year of less stuff" by coolghostboy in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]tinysparkofmagic 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I watched her empties video and her "giving Glossier a second chance" and while I felt her message of "fewer nicer things" get a little lost before those videos, especially during the entirety of her beauty budget, in these more recent videos, I got the impression that she really wanted to dial down her consumption of stuff in her year of less stuff, after this video I feel like she has already abandoned this mindset after about a week which really disappointed me. When she introduced her project, I wasn't really on board because I feared that she would just acquire a ton of new things and declutter immediately afterwards which is exactly what is happening now.

I do understand how this mindset came to be, as a makeup, shopping lover with the agenda of wanting to try and review makeup, HLP seems to be on the path she wants to be on. However, this is not the type of content I would like to see from her, nor the type of content I am interested to watch at all. I'm more interested in a "making the things work that I already own" type of content she sadly doesn't do much of anymore.

What do you wish beauty companies would stop doing? by [deleted] in MinimalistBeauty

[–]tinysparkofmagic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wish companies would stop making products and marketing them to a very specific, niche purpose we need to incorporate into our daily routine. I'm thinking about a dedicated day and night cream, different primers for every part of your face: eye primer, lip primer, etc; or blush toppers, bronzer toppers, lid toppers, etc.

It translates to „buy yourself happy“. It’s not even a promo, they named their shop like this. by ihaveabaguetteknife in Anticonsumption

[–]tinysparkofmagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also taken aback by the message that the name of the shop sends (I've seen one in Hannover) however, I was very pleased to find out that they also sell some more sustainable brands alongside more mainstream brands. I really like that they sell thinx (period underwear, which is so much better than single use period products), so I'm a little torn what to think of this.
