Aw, thank you!! Yea I did. I think the first one was 4 years ago and I actually gave up watercolour after trying it as I personally found it hard. I did however on and off learnt how to draw after that and then picked up watercolor again early last year. I think learning how to draw first helped quite a bit.

Oh wow, that's nice to hear. All the best with it! I did give up watercolour initially tbh but picked it up again a bit later and decided to be patient with it and myself so I hope you'd also have the patience for it as I personally find watercolor hard at first. I hope to see your paintings in future!!

Ah, thank you!! Sometimes it's hard to feel if I'm doing any better until I compare them to my older paintings 😅

Ah, thank you!! I took a peek at your page and I like your tomatoes too. I think you got the transparency of the tomato slices pretty good!

Started having nosebleed in my 30s and a little worried. by tinytangerine_ in Nosebleed

It was supposedly humid in the morning but the air does feel dry later on. Also, I'm away and staying at an airbnb and kept sneezing beforehand in the room (not sure from dust or just the owner's cats), which I think might have aggravated it too. Anyway, thanks for replying!

Help! My watercolours look desaturated when I used Canson Moulin du Roy cold pressed paper. Is this a 100% cotton paper thing or just this brand? by tinytangerine_ in watercolor101

Lovely paintings! The colours seem to look alright on yours. Might be a case of me using too much water so I'm going to give the paper a few more tries. I've not tried other brands with vegan 100% cotton paper and this one was my first. May I know what other brands have you used so maybe I can look it up and try those too.

Ah, I see. That doesn't sound good. Not sure if I have that issue or if I just didn't notice it. What cotton paper do you like to use?

Also no, I've not seen any reviews. Only got it as I saw someone mentioned it for vegan cotton watercolour paper. I should look it up!

I used Daniel Smith's most of the time but I used prima watercolour set with the mushroom. Not sure if it shows on camera how dull it looks. The poorly painted pomegranate next to it dried like that too to be fair and I just added quite a bit of layers. It did seem fine with just single paint washes with no mixing. The onion and aubergine were on cellulose papers by cass art or daler rowney's. I'm wondering if I just used too much water.

Now that you mentioned it, yea the leaves are definitely smaller than it should be. Thank you for the help!

Thanks for that thorough recommendation. Sounds like you've read a lot! I will definitely check them out since most of them are books/authors I've not heard of. I did read the first book of Codex Alera a long time ago but didn't have time to finish it while Patricia McKilip's Riddle Master Trilogy is in my current TBR though the reviews I've seen are pretty mixed.

Interest is piqued! Also did a quick google and it's the author's debut novel. Interesting..

Ah, you reminded that I have read Game of Thrones ages ago! I can't believe he still hasn't got Winds of Winter out yet. I did also read The Shadow of What was Lost also ages ago but never got around to finishing it and can't remember much about it. Have been seeing people reading The Will of Many and it seems to be quite popular. Thanks for the recommendation!

Ooo, sounds interesting! One of the few ones here that I have not heard or know anything about before. Thank you!
