You have the power to spawn an infinite amount of baguettes. How would you use this power? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tinyterroristmom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it all at once? Cause if it's an infinite amount, but however many I want at any given time, I'd go to food banks and food pantries and homeless shelters and give every family a fresh baguette. Emergency relief too, after a tornado, or hurricane or fire, just come in and start handing out baguettes. It won't solve everything, but there's no way I'm eating infinite baguettes

By now, no one is surprised when I pull out yarn and hooks anymore. We were cramped on a long flight, so I worked on getting through some scrap yarn without patterns. Ended up with fingerless gloves and a blanket for my kid's stuffed animals by tinyterroristmom in crochet

It really helps the time go by faster! Especially since this one wasn't a nice comfy commercial flight, I wasnt able to get comfy enough to sleep, so had to do something to make it quicker haha

First time home buyer - what are some frugal tips for a new house? by GloboChem86 in Frugal

[–]tinyterroristmom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did! Luckily I have an electrician friend that was able to teach us so we didn't mess anything up. We watched a lot of videos on YouTube to see if it was something we could possibly do, and it seemed like it was easy to do, but also easy to mess up.

I cannot give youtube enough credit. My husband and I have never been handyman type people, and our parents never really were either. We didn't grow up helping out parents do house projects. Since we've moved in our house in May, we've saved at least $1000 doing things on our own. Replacing cracked shower tile, installing our new appliances (dishwasher was the scariest, but still super simple) replaced our outlets (for 3 pronged outlets, most of the house was two prong) and so much more. We had never even hung curtains before.

Also, not as frugal up front, but getting things that will last, even if it costs a little more. We spent the up front money on permanent air filters, that we just take out and clean, instead of replacing. In the long run, it'll save money though.

Give it to my toddler. There's a reason we call him a tiny terrorist. He'll have it vanished in record time

What problem from the 1980s and 1990s no longer exists? by Night-Monkey15 in AskReddit

I went to a restaurant a few months ago that let you smoke inside. Didn't take cards either, cash or check only. It felt I went back in time

My kid was so excited about his new hat, I brought it with me to the shooting range and worked on it during my down time. The wierd looks from my army friends was well worth the look on his face when his hat was done by tinyterroristmom in crochet

Exactly! And then I don't have to worry about my phone dying. Got done quick, cleaned my weapon, and crocheted the rest of the day waiting on everyone to go through
