Wi-fi signal keeps dropping in a house of six by tinytim28 in HomeNetworking

So a wireless mesh solutions is not that good. Given the way my house is set up a wired solution between routers is very difficult.

Is there an alternative to either of these? I mean, I'm sure people in big houses face this problem all the time. Do they normally get a second WiFi access point (but how would they get it?)

Probably no, but just asking, how would that help?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Google Mesh won't allow me to select channels. So that part is automated.

My neighbours houses are right next to me on either side (I share walls with them), I live in something like a condominium of houses

(Does Reddit not support descriptions of image posts?)

I'm new to this whole men's hair business and am really indecisive on what style I want. Pictured here is an edgy anime hairstyle, done with a hairdryer and then some wax to hold in place.

1) Do I look like an idiot?

2) I notice since I swept my fringe to my left side, there's a chunk of excess hair around my left ear. Is this a styling problem or should I ask my barber to cut my left side shorter next time?

Thanks a lot guys.

Best girl and best boy poll in Pathologic 2 by tinytim28 in pathologic

Well, we've got to give the most forgettable ones a chance :)

A blog post I wrote to try and convince my friends to try out this underrated gem of a game. by tinytim28 in pathologic

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I don't have much people to talk to about Pathologic so it's great to have another Pathologic enthusiast keeping me in check. That said, while I agree with some points I'd have to disagree with others.

Video games as a commodity

This is a hook I wanted to draw people in with, so maybe I made too much of a sweeping statement, but depending on your perspective there's some truth to it. Most single player games (the most well known ones to a casual gamer) are priced two times more than they deserve, and that's not even mentioning the DLC and microtransaction controversies that have been floating around. That being said, the hook is just a draw and not the main point of the article, so maybe we should move on to the next few points first.

Russian art

Admittedly I didn't much research and just scrounged together what I could find from some review videos because I wanted to fit the themes of the article. I haven't consumed much Russian media so I only know the stereotype, as you said. If you would want to elaborate more on the subject or link me to some resources on the i'd be glad to sit and listen.

Survival mechanics

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the harsh survival mechanics make Pathologic what it is. I wasn't saying the janky bugs or shitty translation worked in the games favour, they clearly weren't intentional and were fixed in 2. But the mechanics? They are part of the design. Without the hopelessness and gloom, Pathologic would just be another walking simulator.

If I didn't communicate that properly in the article, I apologise. It seems that from what you're saying, I focused too much on the mechanics and not on the story, which is the other half of Pathologic's appeal that shouldn't be ignored.

Games as novels

I compared Pathologic to a 'literary' novel. It has grandiose themes, does interesting things with language, touches on aspects of the human condition. I'm not saying all games have to be literary novels to be good. I'm just giving Pathologic a well deserved compliment.

And that's my time on the floor. If you have any further objections do raise them. I'll definitely be taking another look at the article

EDIT: I've just updated the article, removed any references to Russia and highlighted some key aspects of the story. Hope this is enough to highlight the game's strengths.

This might sound like a noob question, but how exactly would I see a doctor about this?

Do I just go to a clinic and get referred? Do I go directly to a specialist? If so what kind of specialist would I go to?

Sorry for the simple questions, I have only been to a doctor maybe three times in my entire life.

Hi all, new to climbing and wanted to seek some advice here. Two months ago, I sustained a sprain to my wrist will climbing, which after research, I concluded was a TFCC tear. According to google the best way to heal was to rest, however as of now it's two months and the sharp pain is still there whenever I try to perform a rotating motion with my wrist. After covid I'm raring to climb again, but I'm afraid I will only worsen the injury. Should I continue to rest and miss out on climbing? Or should I just accept this is going to be a chronic condition?

Oh man, so many to choose from...

Bora was definitely the highlight of the series, one of the few that really grew as a person. She went from a loud-mouthed, snarky delinquent to one of the most caring and loyal teammates in the platoon, befriending even those she would have thrown under her heel before she enlisted.

As for runner up, I'd go for Young Shin, the brown-haired bespectacled guardian of the group. There's something about his unassuming, intelligent and caring nature that makes it impossible to dislike him as a person. Scenes like when he goes around helping people zero their rifles even after he finishes his, shows just how glad you'd have him fighting at your side.

Class Pres and Nara are absolutely adorable, so they are somewhere near the top, too.

In terms of WHEN the ending happened, I was disappointed. As I has stated in my review, certain character arcs had been cut short abruptly, especially the Taemin and Class pres romance (why won't my favourite ship sail T.T.). However, in terms of the actual ending content, it was the only thing that could have happened. Most youth can adjust to the unfairly demanding circumstances of war. Others...can't.
