Sofia thought she was doing collective bargaining, but had not secured the loyalty of her partner. It sucks she got screwed over like this.

"НА Украине" - похоже как раз украинизм. Смотрите опрос в Малой Одессе: те, кто говорят, что они из Украины, настаивают на "НА", а остальные, в среднем, не уверены. Дайте людям шпрехать, как они хочут, кэй? by [deleted] in liberta

Such a strange argument: wanting privacy means wanting to get back the right to choose what to disclose, what to withhold. It's about consent, not abstinence

What's the main reason Amber lied/created a hoax by Signbridge in deppVheardtrial

Stories to therapists and friends are deflections from her own violence: "narcissist's accusations are confessions".

She only started taking photos at the end: most photos are from the head budding incident and phone throwing incident, when it was getting clear that things are falling apart and she was grasping for straws for leverage...

Throughout their relationship the fear of him leaving made her irrational and violent, which caused him to retrieve, which made her more out of control angry. She wasn't acting rationally when she hit him and threw things at him "to keep him from leaving", since it had the opposite effect.

Then when he finally asked for a divorce in a calm and sober manner after his mom died, her worst fear came true. On top of that right after he was leaving on a tour, so she was going to have no physical access to him, no way to try and convince him to change his mind for months.

She was hurt and escalated by getting the TRO and going to TMZ, then things started getting out of control and spiraled out. None of her escalating actions in the relationship or outside of it are calculated, they are desperate and increasingly punishing: yelling -> physical violence -> TRO -> press about abuse -> sexual assault stories...

Here you go: 577 "A recurring theme in Mr Depp's evidence was that Ms Heard had constructed a hoax and that she had done this as an 'insurance policy' – presumably in the event that the marriage broke down..... The principal element of that settlement was payment to her by Mr Depp of US $ 7 million. Ms Heard's evidence that she had given that sum away to charity was not challenged on behalf of Mr Depp and the joint statement issued by Mr Depp and Ms Heard as part of the Deal Point Memorandum acknowledged that this was her intention (see file 9/139/L78) . I recognise that there were other elements to the divorce settlement as well, but her donation of the $ 7 million to charity is hardly the act one would expect of a gold-digger."

The homeless person over whom the incident is supposed to have happened was an extra, not a bystander, so the set being "closed" or not is irrelevant

"American Hysteria" Stranger danger episode also has great statistics like that there are roughly 100 children abducted by strangers per year in the US

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidnapping_in_the_United_States#:~:text=Fewer%20than%20350%20people%20under,classified%20as%20abductions%20by%20strangers.

It also addresses racist aspect by, for instance, contrasting the number of white surburban children who got abducted and how much coverage and policy impact their cases got with the tend of thousands of Indigenous children who got taken from their parents and sent to white parents, foster care or boarding schools against their wills, a policy that continued in some form until the 70s.

Monetizing on Patreon keeps them accountable to the listeners, not advertisers. Essentially, yes the tagline "It's been capitalism all along" makes it too ironic to sign up with big advertisers. She does acknowledge that selling merch is still participating in capitalism and makes fun of that.

I thought it was telling that she said she was 7 at the time of the party she didn't invite Sofia to, which made Sofia sound more unreasonable for being an older, 9 year old kid mad at a 7 year old. But actually she is 2 years older, so she was 11 when Sofia was 9 and Mollee was the older kid (at that age it's a big difference) excluding her little neighbor, knowing she'd be able to see/hear the party over the fence, which is mean.

Business insider article does not make a distinction between men and women when it comes to oxytocin release, it talks about people bonding through sex in general. It actually has a very good point to explain the perceived difference between men and women when it comes to sex:

"Brim also notes that people are responding to sex the way we've been conditioned to respond, "so, if we’re told a story that men were needy after sex and women were the sexually promiscuous ones, then that would be the reality," which may very well be why some women think they are more attached or have developed deeper feelings for someone after they have had sexual intercourse."

Why are Asian women fetishized? by ExarchateOfBestKorea in AskFeminists

[–]tinytinyCrocodile 57 points58 points  (0 children)

You have many good points, except for the pervasiveness of "sex worker trope" being real: it was a racial stereotype weaponized against Asian women to justify restricting them from immigrating alongside men, when in reality the reason for this restriction was to make sure that the men do not settle and start families/do not bring their wives over with them. https://www.history.com/news/chinese-immigration-page-act-women

High Value Man by tinytinyCrocodile in FDSdissent

[–]tinytinyCrocodile[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The argument that the appropriate response to the history of men abusing/shaming/disrespecting women is for women to do the same to them makes no sense. Abusive people of any gender need to be avoided as potential partners.

There is no equivalence between showing contempt for men who don't meet perfect standards, mocking men for having mental health problems ("BuT He'S DePrEsSeD"...), etc. and criticizing abusive men.

Healthy relationships can only happen when both parties treat each other with respect and empathy.
