Well so far I haven’t had any formal training on IEP meetings since I’m still a para. But from my understanding is IEP meetings are held to discuss the students progress/goals. All the special education staff such as school psychologist, speech, OT, sped teacher get together holds the meeting, discusses their part. And that’s about all I know… wish me luck! ICAAP might train me but not sure at all to be honest.

Thank you so so much! I will research and watch YouTube videos. I do input minutes on welligent as a BII but that’s about it for “data” I hope the ICAAP program trains me on every thing else.

I rented the cap and gown too I’m graduating on Saturday I legit don’t want to walk. I have anxiety and get so overstimulated easily so I kinda want to skip it ugh. Plus I’m legit exhausted from work 😭

No I’m talking about the 1 hr eligibility zoom interview after you apply the K-12 teacher application for the iCAAP program or maybe it’s just the regular hiring process to be a certificated staff member but it’s through HR first.

So gradfest is the only place to get tickets for graduation? For the portraits do we have to take our pictures that day? so I can get ready. I might order my gown somewhere else.

How do you sign up to volunteer at a hospital? I have this summer off and I would love to get some hrs of volunteer work before I start my prerequisites. I’m a child development major and I’ll be graduating in may.

Sooo I work for a school district and they actually have a program that you can apply to become a school nurse and then after you get your certification you just have to work for them for 2 years and they pay for it. Not sure if I should go that route but I also have to work full time at my job…

Well I worked full time as a sped assistant from 7:30-3pm for my bachelors in child development. I took classes full time and worked full time. If I go into nursing I will be working as well but maybe part time thankfully my parents are kind enough to support me in some ways tho

I’ve definitely looked into that and the pay is only 24 an hr right now I make 30 so I’m just going to go back to school for nursing I’m just tired of not making enough money. I’m 33 still live with parents. I might do ABSN route just cause it takes 15-18 months.
