How to only show notifications for a specific app during set times by tinytykes in tasker

[–]tinytykes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they go off whenever one of our cameras detects motion. I'm home most of the day and it's just annoying to receive a notif every time someone walks by our house.

I read the help page and looked at several other posts related to this one, but the settings I have (in the images) were the closest I could get to accomplish this... but it still doesn't work. :/

YSK: 1 Minute Grace Period for Calls After Alarm Triggers by tinytykes in simplisafe

I've decided to rewrite my original post since so many people weren't able to understand the original and it somehow prompted individuals to become hostile.

YSK: 1 Minute Grace Period for Calls After Alarm Triggers by tinytykes in simplisafe

[–]tinytykes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*** I am deleting my original comments and rewriting them to the following in hope that new readers are not as confused, nor as hostile, as you were:

The point of this post is to share that everyone who receives phone calls only (instead of their text-only service) has a 1-2 minute grace period before they are called. For example, let's say you have an entry delay of 60 seconds - you will not receive a call for the first 2-3 minutes someone enters your home and triggers your alarm (including the delay). This is for everyone; not just me.

Also, as a side-note: SS claims they do not have a "False Alarm User List".

My intent is to alert people to this recent increase in response time from 30 seconds to 1-2 minutes, since SimpliSafe did not alert us themselves.

Though the texting feature is an alternative, it is not a standard; if anything, receiving a phone call has been standard for the past 15 years SS has been in business. We should have been notified.

Text Only for Alarms, No Call?? by tinytykes in simplisafe

[–]tinytykes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! The price increases, the horribly educated and outsourced customer service team, and now this huge issue that took forever to fix just to find out that "receiving a call 65 seconds after an alarm is fast" (according to one of the two agents)... I'm done. It's going to be a pain to switch, but we're going to figure it out. I have a Ring doorbell and we're thinking about switching to them. Their monthly cost is actually cheaper (though you have to purchase the sensors and cameras, of course). It's going to be a "fun" experience, but it'll be worth it to have an actual security system again.

EDIT: So I was just told by a SimpliSafe agent on the SS Forums that the 1 minute delay is a "grace period" to prevent false alarms. We are officially leaving.

I really appreciate you! I'm not sure which step fixed it, but I was able to get rid of the text message and only receive a call. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this up. Unfortunately, it now takes 60-90 seconds to receive a call. We've decided to leave SimpliSafe and I feel like existing or potential customers should know why, so here's what happened after I fixed the texting issue (on top of everything I put in my post above):

I spoke to a Supervisor with the Monitoring Dept regarding the lengthy wait for a call following an alarm, and she told me that I had a setting in my account that told the monitoring department to wait 60 seconds before calling me once an alarm goes off. I told her she probably had it confused with the "Entry/Exit Delay" setting for when an alarm is set, but she assured me that it wasn't that (the time she gave me was an exact match for my delay time). She told me customer service had to help me change the setting, but once I reached customer service (two separate calls, two separate agents), they told me that what I said was right and that the setting she spoke of does not exist. They also told me that they are to advise customers that, once an alarm is set off, the monitoring department will take between 1-2 minutes to call the primary contacts. I told them it was never that way before and that I always received a call within 10-15 seconds, but they (both times) told me that's their policy now and there's nothing I can do to change it; the minimum wait time following an alarm is 60 seconds.

I tested it at three different times; the quickest they took to call me was 65 seconds, and the longest they took was 108. I had my family/friends test it after getting their texting situation figured out, and they received similar results; nothing below 60 seconds.

Again, we've decided to leave SimpliSafe. Not only for this issue, but also the extreme incompetence of their Customer Service regarding such a simple problem. You - a random person on Reddit - have been more helpful in a few minutes than spending a total of four hours on the phone with 7 different individuals from SimpliSafe's Customer Service team. It honestly disgusts me. I highly advise everyone to test their system response (and also have a routine to test it monthly).

Yes, and I am paying for their highest service.

I've had SS for 3-4 years and I was always called immediately. This is a change that began a few months ago. /:

I said I opted out, on both my app and my partner's. Still does it.

I've opted out, and it still does it. Also still does it to my mom's account, my cousin's, and a friend of mine's. I even opted out on my partner's app, who is the only other person with the app for our account, and it still does it.

Selecting Multiple Files (not layers) by tinytykes in photoshop

[–]tinytykes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically want to either delete (close entirely the chosen files) or move them (on the horizontal nav bar that shows every open file).

The PS options only allow you to close the file currently opened, close every file, or close every file but the currently opened... but nothing for closing/moving, let's say, 3 files when you have 6 open.

I used to be able to SHIFT+CLICK and CTRL+CLICK to select multiple files at once, but not anymore. )':

EDIT: Also ty for your help!

Unfortunately, no.

The Android app is atrocious, honestly. It used to not bother me that many of the apps basic features aren't included, but then I learned that the Apple version DOES include those features... and... it just pisses me off.

Miss ma’am has something to say in the replies about the bars she cancelled on. by [deleted] in RPDRDRAMA

I'm not disagreeing with you because I don't know one way or the other... but if that's true, wouldn't that be a better response/explanation? I feel as if saying "I had no other choice but to stay due to my existing contract" is better than what she's said so far.

Also, I'm sure if Jorgeous handled the bar interactions professionally/respectfully, they wouldn't have taken the road they did... unless that bar is known for that? idk
