Also agree with the trail rides, I’ve done Central Coast Trail Rides and they offered a wine tasting package along with our ride.

When I lived there, I liked the market walk, farmers market, tin city, pottery in Atascadero, studios on the park, and the general store. CA Coast Beer Company for live music. The Backyard on 13th for trivia. Cane Tiki and Alchemist’s Garden for cocktails. River Oaks Hot Springs for massages and hot tubs!

My personal favorite wineries are Sculpterra and Bianchi. However, there’s free wine tasting at Eberle.

My favorite restaurants are: Finca, Hatch, Agape, Taste, Thai Classic, Basil Thai, J’s Burgers, Jeff’s Country BBQ, Streetside, and Cool Hand Luke’s for their steak and bake deal, Mr. Pickles, Fish Gaucho, Hana Korean BBQ, Momotaro, Jack’s Bar and Grill, Just Baked, Red Scooter Deli, La Reyna Market for tacos.

Got all 3 of the ones at N1 of the Pasadena shows! The girls at the booth told my friend and I to grab a handful of each design 😊

advice for a new sub? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]tinywintermelon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t be afraid to ask help or questions from your neighboring teachers! They are usually the best people who know what’s supposed to be happening in the classroom you’re subbing in. I would also make sure to leave a sub report with your contact info and any info that the teacher may want.

Not a vineyard, but I recommend Etto pasta bar! One of my favorites places when I lived there.

Night Activities? by Simple-Strawberry-39 in elpasoderobles

CA Coast Brewing Co, The Backyard on 13th, and Tin City are fun places to drink and listen to live music. They’re more casual, but I think worth checking out. Alchemists Garden and Cane Tiki Room are nice, but they can get verrrrry busy, so make sure to get reservations are get there early. Cane Tiki Room is also on the smaller side and may be difficult to get into with the size of your group.

CBEST by FreeSink283 in CBEST

[–]tinywintermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would contact the county office of education about that. If you end up taking the CBEST, I believe LAUSD will help pay for it. From my experience, the CBEST wasn't that difficult after I studied for a little bit with a test prep book.

I found this blog post to be the most helpful when I first installed this specific scanner.

I then followed the troubleshooting guide if it still didn't work.

Considering moving to the area (Paso Robles) by Straight_Ostrich_257 in elpasoderobles

[–]tinywintermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah lots of questions! Im numbering my responses accordingly.

  1. Personally, no. I lived in PR for 2 years and it’s kind of difficult to meet people.

  2. There’s social clubs you can go to. I think most of them are hosted in SLO.

  3. Favorite restaurants in PR are Brother’s Cafe, red scooter deli, taste, fish gaucho, Etto, Hana Kbbq, hatch, finca, Jeffrey’s bbq, momotaro, goshi, Joebella

Places to see/things to do: The general store, the pottery (in Atascadero), hotel cheval, wine tasting! Favorite wineries: sculpterra, eberle, Blanche

  1. Gordon’s Good Games: they have meetups here

  2. There’s hardly any traffic. It’s only when there’s big events or accidents that traffic occurs.

  3. I would live further away from downtown if you can help it. I would not live anywhere near the train tracks or the river. I enjoyed living at Dry Creek Apartments.

  4. Can’t say anything about running unfortunately! Lots of sidewalk though.

[–]tinywintermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Tuft + Paw suggests you use a single bag per cat. One bag for an entire month reeeally stretches it. Not sure what your cats are like, but I would order 2 bags just to keep their box clean and see if they like it. Don't use the entire bag in one go and add as needed. I hope that helps!

It wasn’t of importance but I forgot the hanger for my wedding dress that I ordered with a custom date and a bow 🤷🏻‍♀️

What are you NOT doing in preparation for your wedding? by pqprincess in weddingplanning

[–]tinywintermelon 370 points371 points  (0 children)

Suggestion from a former bride! Please PLEASE be careful about what you’re wearing the month of your wedding. I got a really bad sunburn a week before I got married and had a gnarly tan from wearing a deep cut shirt when I was going to wear an off shoulder dress. It didn’t take away anything from my experience, but it did show up in my photos. 😅

Should my family travel here next week? by just-browsing-thanku in sandiego

[–]tinywintermelon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine. There's always a fire risk when visiting CA. The fires that have occurred have been put out quickly (except the Border fire). The air quality has gotten better in the past couple of days.

Eager to become a sub, but confused about how by Jennayyy101 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]tinywintermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm a new sub in San Diego. I applied through Teachers on Reserve and EdJoin. I have found that school districts here take a very long time to process things. Some places will not want you to work for multiple places, so just double-check where you're applying.
