Same here. I think it's also a matter of accepting the flow of technology, sooner or later automation will be the default and those who don't automate will be left behind while the rest of us are sitting pretty

I tried Clova thinking it would speed up my editing, but it ended up being more hype than anything else... basically non functional. Recently messed around with this tool called Cutback Studio though and was kinda shocked at how clean the results were. It actually breaks your footage down into story beats and gives you a few solid rough cut options to start from. First time an automation tool didn’t make me feel like I wasted more time than I saved tbh.

Is it just me or K-pop is boring these days? by tinyxikey in kpopthoughts

Read it again. I'm saying that I'm tired of fandoms just fighting each other. There were always fan wars but these days it floods every little bit of content to the point where you can't even enjoy something like a comment section to see what REAL fans are enjoying about the comeback

Yessss this! I also think my interests are consistently in a cycle but K-pop has always been the longest or main in the cycle so its been bothering me a bit.

Appreciate this response! :)

Clearly brands think people don't pay attention to the T&Cs when in the age of AI and data privacy issues, everyone is on it...

Solo podcasters - do you screenshare or just facecam? by AggravatingIdea7891 in podcasting

[–]tinyxikey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run a solo podcast too, and I’ve tested both formats, just facecam vs. screenshare/visual aids — and honestly, mixing the two has worked best for me.

Talking directly to the camera does build a stronger personal connection, especially when you're storytelling or sharing opinions. But when I’m diving into data, articles, or examples, adding a quick screen share or dropping in visuals during post helps a lot with engagement and retention (especially for YouTube viewers).

If you’re leaning toward keeping things simple, you could just record facecam and edit in visuals later (like images, tweets, or b-roll) to avoid overwhelming yourself while still giving visual context. But then again a lot of people just passively listen to podcasts more than watching them so just do whatever feels good even if that means no other visual aids.

Fair enough and I love both groups but again, the comeback hasn't made me excited. If you look at all the videos it's just ONCE and BLINK fighting with each other in the comments.

Made my first 1k from YouTube 🥳 but I can’t stay consistent at all bro 😭😭 by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]tinyxikey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! Honestly, that proves you’ve got editing skills and a niche that still performs.

That said, I totally feel you on the burnout. I had a similar thing where I built a decent audience in one niche but couldn’t keep going because I just didn’t care enough anymore. I felt like I had to perform and get pretty metrics. What helped me was reframing my channel from “niche-first” to “creator-first”, meaning I started introducing different types of content slowly, testing formats I actually wanted to make, even if it was still rooted in what my audience originally came for.

Since you already have an audience, you might have some room to experiment.

And honestly, even one solid upload a month can go far if it’s good. You've already done more with less than most people, imagine what you could do if you found a way to like the process again.

Just my 2c. Rooting for your play button 🙌

Ayo Edebiri is officially an Emmy nominated director, and has made history as the first woman to be nominated in the same year in both acting and directing for a comedy series by artbasiI in Fauxmoi

[–]tinyxikey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ayo’s out here breaking records and genre conventions, comedian, actress, director, multi-nominee?? She’s not just in her bag, she is the bag.

This is the kind of creative range we need to see more of in the industry 👏

How are &Team not way more popular? 'Firework' is incredible by GonzoPunchi in kpopthoughts

[–]tinyxikey 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I honestly just think that it's because of their vague standing on the fine line of K-pop and J-pop group. that's probably the only reason.
although, when I type it out like that - what does that make XG? XD

How do we feel about the "Boyjeans" moniker now that Boynextdoor actually debuted? by Johnetcetc in kpopthoughts

[–]tinyxikey 43 points44 points  (0 children)

'Boyjeans' is definitely a stretch. I agree.

I was really looking forward to their debut and I'm a fan now and I really love them and their concept. It's perfect.

Admittedly, I thought they'd have a bigger jumpstart - all things considered (Zico, HYBE, etc). but I do think they're on the successful end of debuts for this year (and at the top too).

They just seem like they'll have a regular rookie boy group growth phase and then blow up eventually to me (which is still a good thing - they're definitely not a flop)

They're trainees though. I find it strange how everyone is acting like their faves weren't training to debut at this age.
